Crew Antinomy Posted March 30, 2011 Crew Posted March 30, 2011 15-30 degrees on CPU? Winter is much more effective Sam OCX, low-end SSD aren't too pricy and don't have this problem Quote
Crew Turrican Posted March 31, 2011 Crew Posted March 31, 2011 normal hdds are no problem, i often used it with -20°C outside. you just need to "isolate" them. Quote
Christian Ney Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I thought I was the only crazy/poor one that was using outside air to cool the system.... Wahou, happy to see that even you guys are doing this, I am not alone Quote
Crew Antinomy Posted March 31, 2011 Crew Posted March 31, 2011 I thought I was the only crazy/poor one that was using outside air to cool the system....Christian, our teammates benched using winter air (about -30) pushed through an air conditioner Quote

Crew Turrican Posted March 31, 2011 Crew Posted March 31, 2011 i think ss. i don't think -50°C are easily possible @ winter air in germany. Quote
Christian Ney Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Go Antarctica btw does heatpipe coolers are still effective with subzero air ? Quote
Crew Antinomy Posted March 31, 2011 Crew Posted March 31, 2011 btw does heatpipe coolers are still effective with subzero air ?Nope. Depends on cooler vendor - bad ones frost at zero. Good go to -15-20. So best will be Zalman 7700 i don't think -50°C are easily possible @ winter air in germany.Yeah. But I've said in the air, not air -50 on the CPU on air ain't easily possible in Russia too. But -50 in the air... Quote
