mixed 3dmark 80 points scored with 8800GTX but added only 40! why?

Recommended Posts

Because your 8800 GTX score replaced lower scores on your top 20 HW list, so those lower score dropped off your total. You only get the top 20, so you only get the net difference between your 8800 GTX score and your lowest score (#20 score).

So if you got 80 points in 8800 GTX, then you had 40 mixed points in other benchmarks that are now off the top 20 and are sitting as #21, 22, 23, etc.

I kinda needed that explained too. Thanks Q

Only top 20 HW scores count towards the global ranking, so if you have 20 results worth 1-2-3...19-20 boints, and then get another score worth 21 boints on a piece of HW you haven't benched before, then the score worth 1 boint won't count any more, so your increase will be 21-1=20 boints for the GLOBAL ranking (for hw masters you will gain the full 21 boints), as your top 20 HW scores will now be 2-3-4...20-21.

i am second with a single 8800GTX to 3dmark 2001 and take 45 points

If your score was blocked by the moderator, you would automatically get your original 98591 score added back, which was most likely for about 14 points. Then when you resubmitted a valid 45 pt score, the 14 pt score dropped off, leaving you with the 31 point gain.

Of course you could have had a lot of other activity happening at the same time, but that is what happens when you do better in benchmark using a card you submitted previously.

So let's do it:

TOP15 Global Points you have:

57.5+52.6+50.6+38.7+20+12.8+4.6+4.4+2+0.4

TOP20 Hardware Points you have:

39.7+39.7+39.6+33.4+33.2+29.6+28.1+26.9+26.8+26.7+24.1+23.7+23.6+22.9+22.8+19.3+17.6+17.4+15.1+14.4

= 766.4 which is ~ you actual ''Total Points'' aka 768.00

Do not forget that only the TOP15 Global + TOP20 Hardware count for the ''Total Points'' for the user ranking in the Overclockers League

So your 12 points with the HD5770 aren't added to the Total points as you have 20 other better submissions.

But they are added to your total hardware points + to you team points ;)
