subaruwrc Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Seems like we need to push the temperature far into the positives to get nice memory frequencies on Sandy Bridge-E. For fun, I tested the maximum frequency with LN2 and ended up with Pi-32M stable at DDR3-2666 at 70°C ... this is just lol now i understand why my 3930k sucked in ram clocking at -70°C Quote
Massman Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Got a request to also test on Bulldozer. Quickly tested 2x4GB; not sure what's holding me back at the moment: cpu, mainboard or memory. - DDR3-2608 (1.77V) C10-12-12-34 SuperPI 32M: click - DDR3-2608 (1.77V) C10-12-12-34 Aida64: click - DDR3-2710 (1.77V) C10-12-12-30 CPU-Z Validation: click Quote

Massman Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Playing around a bit more. Found a pretty crazy Sandy Bridge CPU which can do 128BCLK air easily. CPU-Z has issues detecting BCLK correctly, so memory divider is wrong. It should be 1:8. Quote
