Andrix85 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Hy boys, today I have removed my 3770K cooled by single stage and I have found this surprise. The contact are removed. Why? Can I use this cpu now or are damaged? Thanks Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Clean them Picture isn't too clear, but from what I see pads are still here, you have to clean them with some chemistry You had condensation (water) or you socket melted Quote

Andrix85 Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 I have try the cpu but anything. The mboard boot but I have error code 55 and sometimes 00. I have try an other cpu, a 2600K and the mboard ASUS MAXIMUS GENE V boot and reboot always. Have the 3770K killed also the mbaord? Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Maybe I am blind or this photo isn't clear but I still see those pads on cpu Use descaler and metal-wired polishing sponge Like this + Quote
saint19 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I agree with xtreme addict, the contacts are there, you only need clean that carefully and you will have you CPU come back. Quote
Andrix85 Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 No boys, there aren't four contatcs on the rear of cpu. I mount the cpu on mboard now and it don't boot. Tomorrow I try it with other mboard, but i'm sure that it's damaged. Quote
FireKillerGR Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Mine is ok.Have about 8-10 contacts like these. It works like new Quote
Andrix85 Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 I have clean the pin socket of my Gene V and the cpu now work, but not always. I think it's contacs problem, but I do RMA. The mboard isn't damage. Quote
