G.skill 2 x 4Go 2666MHz CL11 with GIGABYTE Z87

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can you help me with my ram?

It is a 2 x 4GB kit G.skill @ 2666MHz CL11-13-13 35

-F3-2666C11D 8GTXD

I can not know what chip there above

This kit boot @ 2800 without changing anything but it is not very stable.

I would try to go up to 3000 + for 2D / 3D

MB : GIGABYTE Z87X-OC

My 4770K is not bad oc, it holds steady for 4.8GHz 1.28V.

In advance thank you

Hi, these are most likely Hynix CFR ICs (sticks have ICs on both sides of PCB, SN Contains 0240 or 1400 ) - try to bump voltage a bit at 2800 11-13-13 or move to 11-14-13. 3000 will be hard, try to start with 12-14-14 or 12-15-15 and then tighten Timings if possible or raise voltage, this can vary on each special kit.

If your modules are dual sided then they are based on Hynix CFR.

2666C11 rated CFR shouldn't have any problems running 1400MHz, might need up to 11-14-13 and 1.725V for that.

From what I've experienced so far, it's not easy to get full stability with CFR at 1466MHz so you might as well forget about your DDR3-3000+ plans.

EDIT: beaten by websmile, I am getting old :D

ok thank you

I did a validation @ 1510MHz just before a BSOD ^ @ 13-15-15

voltage:

SA, IOA, IOD: +0.20

Vram: 1.75v

I thought I could save a little by changing the secondary and tertiary timings.

Too bad
