How appropriate.
I'll contribute.
Couple years ago, NF7-S (too much VDD), and a AN7 (no idea).
In the last two weeks, DFI Ultra B (mosfet fire), and DFI Infinity Ultra (too much Vdimm).
Oh the joys of volt modding. lol
Vdimm mod on my Infinity worked.................for about 15 minutes.
Board is dead.
Was running 3.65v
I would say anything above 3.5v and you're flirting with disaster.
Hmmm.....interesting.
It worked on my Ultra B, and this Infinity doesn't appear to have anything different other than the obvious stuff. Had to send for more trimmers, I was out. I'll finish the mod this weekend. Hopefully, it'll work.
Hey Jon.
Long time no see.
Yes, I'm aware about the booster. If my little buck converter idea doesn't work, I'l just go with the conventional Vdimm mod.
EDIT- No boot with converter. Board still works without it (*whew*).
Guess it will be to conventional VR mod.
Thanks for the warning.
Going to try a different route using a small buck converter to power just the ram right at the slot. Similar to what the OCZ booster did. I've done it before on a NF7, but the DFI is a slightly different animal.
My other one could. I have no reason to believe this one won't either.
Pretty much thought all of them would with a little work. Maybe I was wrong. I'll give it a go though.
Lol, yeah........280 will be out of reach for me I think.
I can run the sticks at 280, but getting a SS without locking up is rare for me up that high. Mid 270's is fine, it's that last 5MHz.
