  1. Hey there,

I'm looking for a stable X79 board, which seems to be kind of a thing actually.

The current board I have doesn't even always boot or forgets it's settings in the BIOS.

Basically I'm looking for any proper X79 board( Asus seems to have the least problems) for about 175 included shipping.

As long as the board works and is stable, I'm interested. Preferably not with insulation material on it ;)

    Few suggestions:

    Asus R4 E/B

    Asus X79 WS

    Asus Sabertooth X79

  2. I found the beta Precision tool kinda lacking in term of user friendlyness, so I didn't touch the voltage slider, since it didn't clearly inform what you were actually setting. Max powerlimit and temp(temp priority) seemed to be enough to get to 2.1GHz tho.

  3. Was watching LTT's livestream the other day and they mentioned something about having to pay to unlock 3-way SLI?

So far the highest scores on the ORB:

No idea where the "serious" overclocking results are though. Maybe there is an NDA on those as well?

Nothing serious here aswell, but still, seems in line with our results.

  4. Hey,

I'm currently working on a script in Powershell to automatically check some system specs and confirm if they are correct or not. Some of the interns here are having difficulties with this, so I thought, why not help them by doing the check via script.

One thing I haven't found a solution to, is getting the correct CPU speed.

WMI and DMIdecode didn't give me the right speed. DMIdecode worked a little better though.

When overclocked, it always shows the wrong value.

Since I'm not very deep into scripting or building programs, I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to read out the correct speed via a script. I guess it has to be via something that reads out from the BIOS, and maybe a calculation from MP and bClk.

    Thanks in advance,
