To keep this subforum as clean as possible we need to follow some simple rules. All pictures have to be hosted here in the forum. Do not use external hosters such as imgur or imageshack Use this thread for vMod requests and general discussions. If you have a confirmed mod post it here. A moderator will check and move the topic to the specific subforum. Use a propper thread title. E.g.: GTX 275 (reference PCB) or ASUS GTX 780 DC2OC (non reference PCB) Please post a high resolution picture of the card (front and backside) at the top of the thread.

Does anyone have a good, simple explanation/guide for connecting and using an e-powerboard? Especially for GPUs without a 6- , 8-pin or a melting connector. I tried it a long time ago, but the card didn't work. Still connected after all these years 😅

The Dual OC has a custom PCB that is different than reference and Strix. I could not find a compatible boardview file, but there might be some other model that uses same/similar PCB. It's my first touch with AMD card newer than HD7970 and I didn't even know what I'm buying, but this particular model seems to be a popular amongst miners in my country. The PCB exposes convenient I2C pads for the main PWM controller and also additional pads for hotwire (vcore, vmem, vddci). To enable hotwire functions, I had to bridge some pads for the different rails, otherwise the pads are disconnected and you can only use the measuring points. - I2C connection to ASP13…

This is for the PCB version that has the 6+2 together beside the power plugs. I've not seen any details for this mod before, hopefully its not a repost/old info. Tested and confirmed working by me....BUT.... consider replacing the chokes. They are a bit puny and run hot. As always, you perform this mod at your own risk. No-one is forcing you to try this.

The voltmod point reads as short to pins 4 *and* 5, so I need to do a bit more work there. 100 Ohms to ground. ...but it's working. As always.... you add this mod at your own risk. I take no responsibility for any mistakes or damage caused before, during or after.

Probed, tested and confirmed working by me. I take no responsibility for damage caused to hardware by external mods. This is for guidance only. No-one is forcing you to try this. Analysis should be done by a user pre, during and post modding

Hello, I'm looking for some help figuring out the shunt mod for RTX A2000. This card has no external power connector and it's limited to 70W. Any ideas? EDIT: One of them is my bet, how to check which one?

Hi Guys, after learning so much on forum, I wanted to share some insight with you on a GTX555 OEM Power Card, that I created for testing purposes. While not delivering a punch, this Power Card runs off of 12V only with no need to add extra +3.3V or +5V voltages. The VMem Controller is a APW8725a that needs no modding, it is just running even after the cut and deliveres 1.4V The VCore Controller is a NCP5388 that I VID-modded to 1.03V On the backside of the card, you need to connect one of the VCore Input Phases as this was fed originally by the PCI Express. Maybe someone has a use-case for this If you want to know more, or need …

Hello all, I am looking to perform some sort of mod to my GT1030 to increase the power limit. Unfortunately this card does not use shunts to measure current, nor does it have any dedicated current sensing IC. I noticed that in the HWBot world records for the GT1030, several users have been able to modify the card without the use of E-Power to increase performance. Does anyone in this forum know what mod I would need to perform? I’m wondering if this card even needs a power mod or if just a volt mod will do with modifying the feedback pins of the voltage controller. Any help is appreciated!

So even though I immediately killed the memory by being to happy to turn a pot heres how to volt mod this card and basically any reference ish 560ti since they use the same controllers. Gpu core power is a ncp5388. Look for an empty pad right below the ncp5388 based on the orientation of the text. The one on the left is what you want wire this to a 100 ohm pot since the feeback resistance is 2 ohms. OCP removal should be as simple as shorting over the resistor connecting ILIM to ROSC. Load line can be controlled with VFB and VDRP. I think disconnecting the resistor between the pins should remove all load line. On the other hand reducing the resistance from VFB to DIF…

Hello all I have a GPU problem that i'm running short on ideas on how to solve. It's an MSI GTX980 Gaming edition card, picked up faulty on eBay. It briefly worked, but a shunt resistor fried under load. (Panasonic ERJ-M1WSF5M0U) i've replaced it twice, but insta-fry upon power up. Could there be damage to the current detection IC that the shunt is connected to? They are V3505's if i'm looking at this correctly... I don't know much about them and as of yet, I can't find spares. I can find replacements for the shunt resistor and I've thought about buying higher-rated ones..... with a lower resistance for a power limit workaround..... bu…

Not many people will care now, but this card was released with a vCore of ~1.55v and a fairly simple aluminium cooler. No prizes for guessing how that combination worked! Here's a VID mod to reduce the vCore for day-to-day use.

Hello guys, I am playing around with this card which uses as vcore pwm the up1983A. I managed to find the FB sense which is working without any other modification(seems like it at least), and the 10hm on the ina 3221. Thing is that when the vga draws ~300w+ the card shuts down like an over current protection. (I guess) Any recommendations of how I could bypass it? Any help will be appreciated http://www.upi-semi.com/en-article-upi-362-1484

I'm having issues with OCP with this controller. The card is a Sapphire Xtreme 5850. I reduced the resistances of all the ISEN pins (1-4) to disable the per-phase OCP, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I still get shutdown and 0V until I cycle power. It's definitely not OVP as GPUPI is fine. Anyone have any experience?

You saw it first here Intro This is not another GTX 1080 Ti review, but a extreme overclocking modding guide. There is no much benefit doing all this for watercooling or aircooling, but required when GPU is frozen to chilly -196°C. Fair bit extra voltage might help reaching higher performance marvels. This guide is evolution of my usual "uncork series", with all good traditions set by previous guides: * Reference GTX 1080/1070 - Uncorking Pascal * Removing power limits on any NV card * Using Raspberry Pi to control your VGA VRM * EVGA GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N OC Guide * Reference GTX 780/780Ti - Big KEPLER * EVGA GTX 680 Classified - Uncorking guide …
