  1. If there is a hack of some sort, please pm it to Mass, to keep it out of the public eye.

Not that I don't trust massman, but why should I show a "hack" to another person.

There are several ways to make an ES look like a retail CPU in every program.

So if the plan is to remove ES scores.. how are you going to judge the 3D scores without the validation screenshot?

First of all, if it was my decision to make, I would make having an online validation/score link ( ORB compare URL ) MANDATORY for every entry, not just the top 20.

Both validations and screenshots can be fiddled with and "cooked" to show whatever a clever ( I said clever, not smart and ethic ) person wants to.

When somemore people start getting retail 980x's this whole crying about es's will go away.

Yeah, the crazy retail I tried today was awesome and I stopped crying...

5790MHz max SuperPi 1M... coldbug at -156C... great CPU :D

  2. Come on man, you're better than misunderstanding what I say.

I'm talking about the very few worthy people in the scene.

I wouldn't mention any names because I'd have to mention all of them, but as an example, I can guarantee you that SF3D would never publish a score obtained with an ES processor as if it was obtained with a retail CPU.

  3. Then you have some pissed off people who got the there gem chips the hard way... There are ways to get these chips.. ebay is one of them..

Q3FEs are nowhere to be found.

Q3QPs have lower chances of hitting that crazy clocks you've seen.

And both die in a short period of time with extreme overclocking.

And you also need to realize that you are splashing out 1000$+ for a product that might die soon and has no warranty at all.

The guys who have the good clocking Q3FEs/Q3QPs didn't spend a dime getting them, they are samples.

  4. You expect that in one and a half months people to catch up with several months of ES binning? We are talking €1000 CPUs here.

We're also talking about people who buy those 5-5 or even 10-10, and some others who RMA them more than... often :P

2 months should be more than sufficient if 1.5 month doesn't sound good enough.

There are at least 50 users who'll buy a 980X during the launch day, and more definitely another 100 in April.

  5. The most rewarding "tweaks" for wPrime 32 and 1024 are...

    1) Use the appropriate Windows version ( Windows XP x86 for Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9 CPUs, Windows Vista x86 for Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad/Extreme CPUs )

    2) Do a copy-wazza ( just like you do for SuperPi, it helps in wPrime too )

    3) Make sure you install the chipset & VGA drivers for your system ( wPrime is slower without these )

    4) Enable LSC ( LargeSystemCache = 1 )

    5) Run wPrime in realtime priority with prifinity or a batch file

    6) Disable Windows Themes / Aero ( could be the opposite, I don't remember for sure, sorry )

  6. Ok boys, you should consider yourselves lucky to be able to try my customized benchmarking-oriented Windows :D ( ok, I might be overreacting and exaggerating :D I don't get to talk nice about myself often :D )

Ok! ok! I'll stop mumbling :D

I haven't integrated any CD Keys, so yes, you can legally download these operating systems and try them for free for 30 days without a key or forever just by using your genuine CD Key.

They're in ISO format archived in split RAR files.

Just download the archives and extract the ISO and burn it with a cd/dvd burning application ( Nero, etc ).

    The links are interchangeable.
