The official MSI MOA 2013 "Class A" EMEA Online Semi-Final thread.

Prolly you'll be lucky enough... ryba c'mon man show us your nuts! Seems you are the only one left? -
Ok thanks for that.

Till there were some double-testbed ideas or just 'running 1700 on stock pwm' it won't be that hard to follow that way and erase the 'ES' mark even with Paint for SPi. To avoid first ppl were asked to make videos. To avoid second - >? It's marasmus yeah but till I'm interested in MOA despite all that madness I just had to ask.
-
@Massman, der8auer If you do make those strict ati-Epower video rules for VGAs will there be any anti-ES Haswell demand? How will you treat 'suspiciously high' reatil freqs? Describe the 'suspiciously high' in numbers please. Deciding beforehand is better than scratching heads in the end, and concerning all the pro-benchers already have to make the proof anyway it won't take much complains to do the same for CPUs. IMO to be fair and treat everything equally.
-
Or just put a web-cam onto a tripod, make sure you get a complete picture of what is going on, push "record' button on the notebook, start PC, show the testbed precisely, and get the entire bench-session video for sure -) Sounds easy but may be hard. Will try these days till I wanted it for my project. I would personally be against doing this but it's the only way for those competing to avoid unnecessary questions and chargeables at the very end till the price is too high. der8auer is totally right. Or.. does anybody want to re-bench? Or see how others re-bench the 'dead' cards?
-
Really sad. I didn't want to believe in all that stuff yesterday but... Show the testbed precisely. Take a video of the testbed + monitor + temp-meters in one screen during the whole bench run. You'll have to pour LN2 there quite often. Yeh, a friend may help with the second one, but it will be hard. Till the card dies or 'dies' it will be the only good proof for a bencher to avoid unnecessary questions.I don't think the participants left and willing to compete will cheat and ask for the ban but till ppl are really angry with epower rule it should be done. p.s. Titan costs $1300, HD-webcam = $30, tripod for that = $20. For those with 'no money'. Massman you should tell ppl from the very start if the video is a must, and/or starting from which clocks for Titan, 560Ti-448 and probably Haswell (?) the judges would like to see this kind of proof, what should be done if the video is unclear and 'the card died' etc etc etc. We might not need it without rules improvement but this time it is obvious.

Still hope the rules are not final...

Thanks thebanik but it seems I've already found my CPU.. Anyway will definitely contact you if something goes wrong on that deal.

1. MSI gets back to the 1st stage HW rules. |Meaning Epower is a PSU part/soldering stuff etc., allowed| No more complains from the community, everybody is happy, benching and doing his best to get truly amazing scores because it's the only way for MOA WW finalists 2. Epower and other vendors' VRM parts prohibited. Sick and angry feedback from community. MSI promotes EVGA Epower high to the sky (I smell news titles like "Sensation: MSI prohibits Epower usage for MOA finals!" with Epower annotations). Great ocers ignore MOA semi-finals. The ones stayed in the game may cheat. Video confirmation of every benching session becomes a must then. Precise video with rig and final score screens, without any cuttings. IMO there are no more smart ways.
-
Okay man sorry for that sarcasm from me if you did your best. I had to do that to make things clear 'cuz there are different rumors spreading inside the community. Ppl want to know who's personally responsible for the 'best' MOA rule ever. giorgioprimo great post man! I think everyone involved into the game should follow the way and tell everything he thinks about this stuff. p.s. icebob no one used external vrm in B-one 'cuz it was not worth the nuts those days
-
Just try.. There could not be a better promo for EVGA Epower than MSI's ban for MOA contest this way if it still happens. 10-20 pros would use it silently but now millions may learn magic 'Epower' word from the news on the 1st of July 2013.
-
To be fair - might be good for non-validable 2D (if EVbot'll be finally allowed) but it rly takes time and makes angry when benching alone. Too complicated for me too though 'm not challenging.

I think no one blames you Vivi -) It was fun till one day. [off]p.s. cyclone. Still don't understand why many spell it like Cyclone. Just copy-paste the account name, don't make things too compicated [/off]

Just came back from a vacation. Till I've already got my ticket reading MOA news is always a big interest for me but not this time. Sorry but it's a shame! @ Epower was allowed (not prohibited at least) for stage 1 in A ot B so where's the logic in changing HW usage rules though all say it's not the way to go and MSI+HWBOT follows it according to other HW stuff? @ early Epower is the way to go for many PRO-ocers here at HWBOT for two-three years I suppose and till this time nobody complained on that thing. Let's follow the logic and ban k|ngp|n from HWBOT tomorrow? And soldering irons in a week? C'mon guys, all these modding things are only minor stuff for the correct hands and brains. HW labeled with 'MSI' is the major one. @ This kind of OC challenge is for the best and high-skilled guys. AFAIK many A-fighters have got their own Epowers with pre-modded Titans already. Pre-tested, ready for the challenge. If you are in TOP15 just 'cuz MOA attracted less pro ocers than MSI wanted to see it's not the good way to make equal rules for everybody. @ is MSI ready to share VRM-datasheets for all their Lightning cards? Till I personally know only 1 person who might do a zombie VRM from Light by himself for a week or two. Maybe. I personally don't have skills and resources to do anything else than make a usual mod, use Epower or cut DirectCu II/MATRIX VRM and play with those. Still no time even with datasheets on the knees 'cuz semi-finals start in 2 days and will not last long enough to play the right way! @ does MSI want another death-added feedback from the community like earlier with LGA1155 boards, this time with dead Titans? I feel sorry for those 5-10 A-guys (others won't play hard) risking to loose at least $1300 during every bench-session. Yep, I've already received a confirmation letter from MSI regarding MOA WW ticket winning. Nevertheless I'm totally dissappointed with the mess which is going on here right now. And it will go further. Just because of one badly thinked rule. +1

Are they as rare? C'mon guys don't be shy And remember that in late July SBs will become worthless again -)
-
don't worry man! there were really few guys who submitted their scores in time for LD so good luck!

@Dancop yeah why not? -) -
Okay for 2D & 'next-gen HW' promo. But Haswell will suck in FS for sure, especially concerning ES-retail OC issue (so SPi as well I suppose). Not sure if any of the guys will be fully ready to re-bench FSE on LGA2011 after MOA qualifier (though evryone has got it already) so I think MSI is just loosing the opportunity to hit some WRs in pretty new benchmark and take it up for a while.
