  1. Go class A, let us a chance on class B for do something decent....
  2. That's the problem...but in my case I see the budget side of the contest with only the cost of the 290x Lightning I can buy all the hardware for class B. Any way, I am pretty sure that is almost impossible for me to get a ticket but my hobby is the OC and I do this at this time for fun and for learn a little more, maybe in future I can go to the final with a ticket.
  3. 4790K for Class A I guess, Class B is limited to Intel Pentium G3258 CPU.
  4. I will use the link provided by rule, if I need more help I will ask. LN2 BIOS is released as soon as the contest start right?
  5. Overclocker solution: Buy 1GB and 2GB and test the best one...
  6. I would guess than N750 TF 1GD5/OC is the best option. Same question. 2GB would do a difference in FireStrike? You at least know how to use those ePower, this would be my 1st time with GPU under sub-zero temps. Newegg start to ship on 25/06 while Amazon start to ship on 20/06, I have on pre-order on Amazon with Prime that is 2 days delivery, after that I have to wait another 5 days that arrive to my country.
  7. Well, in my country people doesn't do overclock but I have to enter in the AM qualifiers so, any "advantage" goes to the trash.
  8. That's another option, but I think that is more difficult to get the ticket (more when I am a nOOb on this competitions) and we compete against top guys around the world. 1200 USD for class A (CPU, mobo, GPU, SSD), I would enter in the AM qualifiers so, would be Mikecdm, rbuass, gnidaol, ftw that have to compete on class A as rules says, plus the other guys that enter on the same class in the competition. Decisions...
  9. In theory, the first 4 OCers in the AM qualifier class A would get direct ticket to the final? Or I am wrong...
  10. Crap, too much money. 1) That Lightning is on 680 USD on Newegg, plus 80-100 USD more fro shipping to my country. 2) Another 600 on mobo and CPU (only one CPU) plus shipping 3) A cheap SSD 4) Maybe PSU too... I think that I would have to cross my fingers again and wait that Tom's send me again to cover the event...if that can happen....
  11. Hi guys... CLASS A QUALIFIER RULES Any MSI Z97 motherboard. Use 1 CPU. Server CPUs (Xeon, Opteron) not allowed. Any MSI R9 series graphics card. Single GPU. External power circuit disallowed. CLASS B QUALIFIER RULES Any MSI Z87, Z97 motherboard. (LGA 1150) Intel Pentium G3258 CPU. Use 1 CPU. Server CPUs not allowed. GTX 750 graphics card allowed. Single GPU. Please download the LN2 BIOS and Afterburner Extreme here. External power circuit allowed. Only use hardware that is available for retail. This competition is between Members. Employee (either full-time or part-time) of any motherboard manufacturers is not eligible for the contest. Are those requirements right? I mean...for the class?. Any way, I have some questions: 1) Only R9 is allowed for class A? Or can I use nVidia models... 2) This is not very clear for me: "The top 18 overclockers from different classes and regions will be invited to the MOA 2014 Grand Final. Only the highest ranked participant per country (for each round) will get a ticket to Grand Final." The total of participants in the final (On Taiwan I guess) will be 18? The 18 top will travel to the final?
  12. ^Same question here...only qualifiers and directly to the finals? By the way, the rules in the page for MOA are inverted or something like that...
  13. I need to come back to Taipei, really anxious to know the rules and stage for this year...
  14. This is gone be something big...so sad that I can't go... Hope to save to money to be there next year... :(
  15. Few years ago I won one thing from MSI, a Winpad 100 exactly. 3 days from Taiwan to Colombia (Latin America) with DHL....excellt Congratultions to the winners...
  16. Your welcome....now re-sell the Z77 MPower Agree, to much money for just a month. Until I know and see on Internet, performance difference isn't more that 7%. For a big...big price...anyway, is too much hardware to buy for a competition.
  17. Sorry for the double post... 1) It's Colombia...not Columbia, this can be misunderstood with some places in the USA. 2) As far as I understood, only the 50% of the participants goes to the 2nd round BUT only if exist 15 participants or more. In our case, we only was 9. In any way, FTW have more experience in this type of contest and have better results than me. I know, my results wasn't the best compared with the results of the all participants but here is my "Odyssey" for this MOA. Add to this, work from 8 to 18 Monday to Friday and final exams on the night. 1) Mpower Z77 bought on March 7 in Newegg. 2) Was delivered on March 9. 3) Shipped to Colombia on March 11. 4) Arrived to my home exactly on March 15, few hours before the "dead line" for lucky draw. 5) LN2 was bought on March 17. 6) I had final exams on March 20, 22, 23, 24 and 27. 7) Received PM from Lucky_nOOb with help on settings for this motherboard. Thanks for this 8) My daughter was sick on March 25 and 26, so, family 1st. 9) From March 28 to March 30 was my "real" time to bench and participate. Sounds as excuse, but this time I think that all was against me....I already used the LN2, but unfortunately not for this competition. Good luck to all of you guys
  18. Hi guys... Well, my results wasn't the best or even good over this qualifier but was very funny and thanks to Lucky_nOOb I know some things of this MPower Z77. I was on final exams, so, unfortunately I only was able to use LN2 until this weekend, too late for 1st round ,but any way, to the point. I didn't pass to the 2nd round but would be interesting see this benchmarks. 32M SuperPi or as a second option wPrime 1024M 3DMark01, 3DMark03 or 3DMark06 > I really love this 3 benchmarks FireStrike Performance Regarding Titan, I would say no. It's very expensive (in my case at least) and only can be found in reference PCB, plus, few days ago Hi Cookie "cooked" 3 of them....I think that would be the same history on this 2nd round. Just my opinion. My current components (3770k + gtx 680) would be the same for the 2nd round but I didn't pass, so, I don't have to worry about. Good idea Vivi and thanks for ask us our opinion.
  19. So MOA finals are in the moon....awesome!!!
