  1. For cpuz yeah, but buy two APU cpus would cost more than buy the prizes for your own. I will go today to the store, I guess that all of you guys are looking for the A85X Extreme6? I'm still thinking if enter or not....
  2. As I understand, you can win each stage but only the gran prize will be given to you, the week prizes will be delivered to the second place in competition. Yeah, seems a 5800K competition.
  3. Very interesting, I would have to buy motherboard and CPU for this and that cost almost similar to the prize, but seems interesting and funny for participate. If I can find good components, maybe I enter to this one...just for fun.
  4. I like the M4 Crucial, few days ago was on $160 on amazon...for 256GB is a very good price.
  5. The time to receive the prize isn't really important since you already won (IMO), few months back I won something from MSI in Facebook and I received the prize 3 days later, too fast if we keep in mind that I live in the other side of the MSI's Headquarters. Now, limit the frequency would be "good" in some point, but the general idea of overclocking is get the max of your hardware so, we go in opposite to that. Why not use both ways? Competitions where the frequency is and isn't limited? Example: Stage 1: Ivy Bridge SuperPI 32M 4.7GHz max +-5% > All we know that thi limit send us to use tweaks Stage 2: Ivy Bridge SuperPI 32M not frequency limit Stage 3: 3DMark xx 660 Ti SLI air or water Stage 4: 3DMark xx 660 Ti SLI no limit Just is my idea....
  6. Totally agree on that part, emphasis in midrange GPUs can be more interesting for many reasons. SLI with 2x660 Ti give you the possibility for add points in two categories in a lot of benchmarks, single GPU and SLI with two GPUs, while a single high end GPU limit you to a single category.
  7. I agree with xtreme addict, the contacts are there, you only need clean that carefully and you will have you CPU come back.
  8. After read all the big guys write their opinions, here is mine, the opinion of a nOOb that is losing interest in the OC world. All we know that overclocking world isn't fair and more if you are in the XOC league, but that's the "cost" of use extreme cooling methods. Now, the sad part is that while the top guys have too much hardware and constant access to LN2, now I want to be in the top and win points for rise up in the rank, for that reason I bought from my own money a i7-3770k and GTX 680 Lightning....but after bought that I'm in the same way, why? Because a single CPU with a single GPU can't do anything against a lot of hardware and better hardware above mine, that's it. Now, overclock isn't only dead in Italy, is also coming to the end in my country Columbia...that has never been in the "top" or almost near to be. The Rbuass suggestions are very nice, but I also know that is almost impossible change the current system to that new proposal. For now, I still have some hardware that I want test (FX-8350) since I want a 8GHz validation but after that I don't know if I will continue overclocking...as many of the guys here, I have kids and bills to pay. Cheers.
  9. Totally agree on this. I'm not in the Pro OC League, and even, I'm not in the top of the OC league but I agree with Rasparthe and Rbuass. Why not do something for the middle end and low end hardware? I know, we should do the effort for get high end hardware but even that, I only can get one or maybe two lightning GPUs per year...that's not enough for give a fight to the top guys with a lot of hardware in the desk.
  10. Ok. Thanks for clear that up
  11. Hi Turricane. I just have basic question about the signature. I see some users (http://hwbot.org/forum/member.php?u=20225) that have in their signatures the "rank" level. In this example, he have the "Level 3" that's overclocking student. In my case, I'm in the "Level 1", overclocking baby, but I can't find the option to show that in my signature. The only option that I see there is the "Cups and medals". Why is that?
  12. Question for the AMD SuperPI 1M stage. All five submitions have to be done with different users? Or I can do all five with AM3+, AM3..
  13. Thanks man, will try sub zero in GPU latter to get more points and maybe first place.
  14. I leave the pcmark05 bench for all those tweaks...
  15. Well, here in my country are 2am...so, I has been almost 1 day without sleep..
  16. Thanks Eeky Nox, now it's running OK. I will try the other other one. Thanks again for the help guys
  17. Thanks for the help, but even that..I can't find it!!! I'm looking it in "Other" and "Unknown" but I can't see it...
  18. Thanks for the reply...I installed nVidia inspector but I can't find that DX9_PREBITS_COMP. Can you help me a little more here? Where is that option?
  19. Hi guys. I'm here asking for your help. Few days ago I got a new GTX 680 Lightning. I was thinking that with this GPU I will increase my score a little more in the OC league, but when I started to testing with Aquamark the problems comes out. Only 170k? that's even good for a GPU of that category. My configuration is: GTX 680 Lightning on air i7-3770k @ 5GHz on air Corsair Dominator GT 2133MHz Maximus V Gene Corsair AX1200 Crucial SSD C300 64GB Windows XP SP3 I tested the GPU with windows 7 and the score is much better, but all we know that XP is the proper OS for this benchmark. I already did a new installation of windows but the problem continue. What could happen here? Thanks in advice and hope that you can help me
