Z170 MOCF, bought in April 2016, benched on LN2 twice, Vas cleaned off, boxed with all bits. Booted b-die 4133mhz 12-11-11-28-1t 49/6/50/6 on ln2 no probs.
Also 2x8gb Tridentz 3600mhzC15, nothing special but does 4kC12 no probs

Sure you both are very welcome to join in. As for pots check the classified section here or place a wanted add, they do occaisionaly come up on ebay so keep looking!
A very good way to get into subzero benching is with a phase unit, although these can be costly but some bargains can be had but still work out cheaper for time used when overclocking at subzero temps, a very good learning platform imo. Or of course come along to the next bench meet and try for yourselves, lots of info available so please do ask.

Nice work Gav, congrats!,

I have been pouring down to like -175 while adjusting voltages in bios so can handle -175, then booting and starting bench at like 6ghz and then pouring to full pot, then after that adjusting to the multi you want and should be able to do max multi.
Not saying this is perfect method but worked for me, nacho gave me a lot of good suggestions, and dancops post helped me a lot. I used to fool around at low temps while keeping load on cpu while pouring down, that was bad idea for skylake.
What you used to do is what i have been doing and getting cracks/issues, starting loading at around -100c and keep running till full pot, at 6.6ghz almost guaranteed crack! Going to try your method next time once i have apex, thank you.
-
You shouldn't start running benches at -90c to check anything if planning on going full pot after. That was one of my problems when having a lot of cracks.
Straight to full pot and run?

L639F977 5000/4500 with 3600 mems R15 requires 1,216v... It's without delid, used some cheap Arctic Alumina to test it worked but hitting 90 degrees, delid with kryonaut coming soon.
Looking very good, gotta be sub 1.2v after

ya that's kinda what I was thinking, might just switch for a different one, his seems really bad. I have a L631 also but havent seen anyone with one yet.
My moneys on the 631 being the better chip, get that Apex to work!!

I cant believe out of all batch's in this thread I had to match up with this one. Mine is L640F774
Noooooooooo, leave in box, return and forget??........

Just had a quick play on cold, i miss that crack! Had a few issues and quite a few 124 bsods and 9c but managed cine R15 at 6635mhz 62 cache with 4k mems 1.83v, tried for 6.7@1.87v got 50% of the way through before throwing a 124

Raise uncore to 4500 and see if it still passes...
In fact 5GHz is a good comparison point regarding temps... From the ones (35 pieces) we tested last week, the best that could do multiple runs of CB R15 (5000/4500 & mems at 3600) with a non fixated DH 15 was at 1.23Vcore on GB Z270X SOC. (Non delidded)
Average voltage was around 1.285Vcore
Massman has the Excel sheet
Ok should we keep in line then hwbotters?? Start at 50/45/36 and raise core to check scaling??
I'll have a go later and post.

ya I have 2 chips but waiting for the Apex before really getting into them
Yeah likewise, well wont be taking it cold until the apex. Been 11 months for me so i can wait a little longer!

A couple of days and it will be, it does look promising and not all are created equal.
