Any software (tweak - trck - cheat or whetever) altering the benchmark achieve a result bulky is not permitted.
There are many twaeks that altering the perception of the benchmark, because replace or modify temporary files of own benchmark.
Any tweak doing this, is not allowed, and at that time no longer a tweak is a cheat, obviously becomes illegal, most probably the bencher use a cheat, runs the risk of being called a cheater and in turn that the staff can take action on.
Why should all offer there tweaks??? It doesnt matter, then we use new tweaks... and again all say cheatNo limits, apparently, to the tweaks, then Sam OCX is right.
Situation with PCM05 is such that you might have to prove that your tweak is legit before you can use it, otherwise everyone will just cheat (there is no "obvious" detection for it unlike in other benchmarks) and claim they know a tweak which hwbot staff doesn't.Note:This place is Hardwarebot , not sofwarebot, overclocking the hardware is only one and the most important, here

So you say if I only could replace a 3DMark03 scene runtime with another scene which includes a plain perfectly flat land and sky, it would be legit? And get 1000% boost?
Or maybe omit the sky too, why not...

I live in Buenos Aires - Argentina (15000 Kms), and a call from he can be more expensive than a 3770k.
Look, perhaps next year I traveled to Germany - Netherlands - Austria and Italy, with my family (i hope), I prefer saving those euros for the trip

Christian is part of the staff too, and think about it totally different.

My feeling is :

Days ago GENiEBEN, staff member, has shown all the staff how it works- text edit tweak-
Each member of staff is also a bencher, but always, the crew, prioritize research on every tweak in each of the benchmarks.
Maybe some may not comment every tweak ( So...benchers are ), but finally, we have a good discussion of each of the changes that may or may not allow.
By now tweak text edit is the discussion, well....sincerely I'm the one that discusses.
I will not deny that the discussion is also, what is the limit of tweaks that can afford, because anytime one Sempron 2200+ show better score than 3770k, both w/accard or ssd or anything like HDD

It's because the staff are benchers too.
Nobody is willing to give up secrets in the name of fair play because it takes away their edge. The staff is more loyal to their benching teams than they are to the site.

The most important tweaks I've used have been developed by overclockers of my country and are not equal to those who have used other overclockers from other countries.
Some of them, such as changing the HDD, I chatted with Gluvocio (only), but he uses a different method.
If you look, no one in Latin America, wants to use the PCMark, everyone thinks it's cheating, that is why we stopped using, and maybe have much reason. (this include the great overclockers of this region like rbuass - nacho_arroyo - siouxx, etc. )

PcMark 2005 not the only one in question, maybe also PcVantage and PcM7, may have some problems "tweaks", if we look at the overall results.
I personally have stopped running the PCMark 2005, too much time for tweaks, I'd rather lose this time adjusting the hardware.
Besides with my spirit of overclocker (or almost) feel like I'm cheating the other guys, is my feeling in this problem
I know this tweaks:
- powertoy, transp windows, web page red, change Hdd (is script), virus scan. and a few more.
I dont know Text edit "tweak" I have not tested. I think this is a script .bat, that exponentially increasing the score.
By now, I prefer to wait until it is clear this problem of the PcMark (all the PcMark - Vantage y 7) It all started almost a year ago with the use of ram caching (undercover ) and now led to many more problems with more tweaks.
Now moderate this benchmark is clearly impossible, if we do not define the limits of the benchmark's hack.

Guys, What is the limit? is what we are asking everyone using the PCMark (any benchmark like 2005 - Vantage or 7)

a.) anything goes so long as orb validates and rape the shit out of the benchmark (in which case I will start playing pcm05.)b.) benchmark no longer has points... or everybody gets reset to 0 after a strong wrapper is made.
a) Absurd results, unusual regardless of the hardware that has been used, maybe tomorrow for example, Pentium III (Copermine) 750 Mhz get higher score than a i7 920
b) Is fair to those who have lost many hours to achieve good or better scores, without using tweaks or tricks like change something in the software ?
Perhaps is time to let out,. would be a pity., maybe We should no longer use this benchmark at HWBOT.
BUT my personal opinion is as long as its within the rules, what we know as a traditional tweak, not modifying anything in the benchmark, not tricking the benchmark into thinking its faster than it is, i think its fine,and it is great to have a benchmark where the software guys can really sink their teeth in and compete on a global level, thats a great thing,
we just need to clean things up a little and this can be a thriving benchmark

Ps: Meanwhile nobody wants to admit it, many use (and used) ramcaching in this PcM 2005, like another PcMarks

If your replacing any files to get high text edit or any score in any benchmark your CHEATINGC'mon guys no rules need to be published to know this, this is benching 101, if someone replaced a texture file in 3dmark so it didn't render there would be an outrage, same thing, don't do it AND if you have done it, pull those scores down now
Since some time ago ALL ( include me) are ruining this benchmark, the results today can not give valid comparisons by the hardware used.

Guys I dont see anything yet that I says this run is "bugged", and i dont see significant differences compared with other scores.
Someone can tell me why you think this submission is wrong ? because I dont see anything wrong here.
Perhaps there is something I'm not seeing ?
Imho..please maybe this run is bugged , i dont think so by now, but Mikecmd is not cheater.
We should all try not to call any Guy "cheater" for not believing in your score, is the best for the community.

Damn, I've wondered why I'm not able to match some scores, even with higher clocks.
3DMark06 is pretty consistent across different runs, unless you get a bugged run.
