  1. Agreed, has happened in the past and seems it will continue. Good work for being honest though, past winners have been less forthcoming.
  2. When you guys say "5ghz @ 1.3v....blablabla" what other voltage settings are you using. Last chip I had 4790k L418C221 was flat out doing 4.7 @ 1.31v XTU/Cine15, 4.8 1.4v on water but think I'm missing something in the voltages (Vrin need 1.9v+, 1.5v a no go). Could only just pull 5.0 @ 1.49 v 2c/2t, Maximus 7 Gene. Surely the chip couldn't have been that bad (sold and moved to another today though). Relatively new to Haswell from X79 so have to ask.
  3. Hard to believe this was done on Air buddy. Please update your cooling method.
  4. Congrats to nvidiaforever2 for dominating once again. Gave it a good crack in this one but had one G3258 die, the next was very mediocre and the 4790k I have seems one of the worst clockers around! I do need to ask though what cooling, how its cooled because he is just way too far above the rest of us and seems odd. I can't see chilled water doing the job for what he has, but if he has, you've done a bloody good job again mate. You have some really awesome scores. It's been a lot of fun, but I'm into the next league now. Keep on battling rookies!
  5. Check the rumble thread. It is for ambient only methods of cooling. i.e. air/water/chiller water only. No Phase/Dice/Cascade/LN2.
  6. Awesome score, it's about 50 points higher than I can get at the same speed so well done. Will have to check it out.
  7. I mentioned all of this back in Rookie Rumble #6, (btw massman, no winner/lucky draw was announced for this). Was totally set up to suit whoever owned a 4770k over anything else, and my 4930k would get better scores, just not per core. Would love to see a mix of the benches, you could still include XTU, just make the others shine on other platforms as well (I like HWBPrime as it works well on older platforms).Superpi is nice because it introduces memory tweaks over anything plus clock speed. It is a reasonable mix, just been dominated by one platform too much.
  8. What version of Java. Great score!
  9. Well done NvidiaForever! A deserved win! Now get out of the rookie league.
  10. Missed the point in your score buddy. Should be 5.77 not 577.
  11. You cant use phase change in a rookie rumble dude.
  12. Which chip and what did you do to it Lime?
  13. All sounds fair and reasonable to me. That's the whole point to comps like this, to push what you have as far as you can with whatever you can do within the rules. Must say, if I were running a haswell, a delid would be the first thing I did after some baseline runs for benching. All reports point to great improvements. Now if only my IV-E liked the cold, running 7deg ambient and can only manage and extra 50mhz over a 25deg ambient. Keep those good scores going Soorena. Lime, you've got a great chip there buddy, x79 just can't go clock for clock with the haswells. I'm hoping to get my hands on a DC by the end of the comp.
  14. So does a water chiller count?
  15. What temp is your water. 1.7v is very very high for water.
  16. Congrats Soorena. I enjoyed this as my first comp. Pitty my 4930k I couldn't keep up with all the haswells out there. Especially with XTU. Looking forward to trying for another.
  17. Come on paulie. Can you push it any harder?
  18. It won't help because your hwbot per core score will still be based on 4 cores, not 1. That has been my problem with a hexa core otherwise I'd have a 2000+ per core score. Same thing goes in XTU.
  19. Nice time dude but doesnt belong in a rookie rumble comp.
  20. Now just make XTU total score based and not per core and tighten this comp up. XTU more cores Hwbot prime - less cores Spi1m - all out speed It's like if you don't have a 4770k, your handicapped.
  21. That's the second one to go on there with ln2
