Sandy Bridge 2500K/2600K Batch and Serial Numbers

I was invited to day by the Belgian high-end PC shop TONES (http://www.tones.be) to play with Sandy Bridge at the Intel launch party. Together with other [M]-boys (Leeghoofd, Pt1t, Gamer, Teemto and Piotke) we tested 5 retail chips. Here's what we found out: Batch: L039B470 # 0028: 4900 MHz # 0030: 5200 MHz # 0298: 5250 MHz # 4672: 5415 MHz (air) # 4673: 5375 MHz Those CPUs had two different types of S/N. I've also noticed that the M4E I'm testing at the moment tends to loop the memory initialisation more than once. So, it's possible to see it go from 00 to 6x, back to 10, back to 6x and repeat. Just ignore and hope it boots. Oh, in case you have lock-up at 63, try to shutdown PSU and power it on quickly again and boot again. Sometimes it goes straight through. With ASUS boards, when it says overclocking failed: F1 -> bios -> F10 + save and it should work just fine. For the P8P67 Deluxe I quickly tested today: looks like loading settings from the OC profiles doesn't work. Clear CMOS, set everything in bios and reboot works perfectly.

For Clarkdale, it looks like Gigabyte's providing the best BIOS. DDR3-2100 should be possible on all boards, though. Tested 3x 655K and they all did the same clocks under single stage. -
Confirmed. Had no issues with the P67A-UD4 and same error on M4E. UD4 doesn't have EFI?

Go into Windows 7 64-bit and flash the bios using the @Bios 2.10: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Utility/motherboard_utility_gbttools_gbt_atbios.exe -
You can avoid the reflash by just shutting down the power supply for like 30s. If everything goes well, the board'll try to boot from the right bios again. Works most of the time here ... sometimes it takes 5-10x repeating the PSU shutdown, though.

I'm getting error 59 when setting DDR3-2400 DRAM ratio. Means D2 microcode isn't allowing this ratio

You can work around the AE by enabling speedstep and C1E. Then I can see the different options, but WinXP doesn't boot (hangs at loading bar)/

I'm booting at 55x100 now, I think ... but AE is keeping me from trying to get into windows :-/

So far, the debug codes I'm most familiar with are: 00, 25, 63 and AE.

The unique hardware is based on EITHER processor, videocard or memory and not a combination of all three. For VGA benchmarks, the unique hardware limitation is set on the graphics card; for CPU benchmarks, the unique hardware limitation is based on CPU. A part of the Country Cup is also teaming up when necessary to push the team to a higher score. It's strategy.

You are using a D2, right? VTT = 1.24V PLL = 1.7V Neither settings were important, though.

I tested the UD4 and went from 4890 to 5288MHz. The F5 bioses don't have the fix, I think. The F6x is the one with the override setting (which needs to be enabled)
