  1. This whole situation is stupid, this is not how benchmarks are supposed to be handled. When you fundamentally change a benchmark you give it a new name, like geekbench 4 instead of 3. Time spy instead of fire strike etc. A benchmark is not a software that solves any real world problem, thus do not need to be made "more efficient". Mat is already talking about implementing avx etc. You can't have a benchmark that continually change.

Mat really should consider what the goal of a benchmark is...

Just give it a new name and then hwbot can implement it as a new category if they want it.

I will cite XTU again. Where was the effort there?

You always seem to find a way to justify something bad, by bringing up another bad example. Seems like a fool's way to argue.

Btw, what's "progress" in a benchmark? Is a benchmark that takes 3 minutes better than one that takes 2.5? There's no point in optimizing a benchmark, its whole job is to deliver a constant result given the same conditions.

  4. The whole point of having points is to make it competitive. This does nothing towards that, and is impossible for noobs to understand (I don't understand it either).

Also, many benchmarks don't give the right amount of points compared to the pdf. Seems there are different constants used for some benchmarks. Like 3D03 is OP and some others, while some are lower than they should be, like 01 and aqua. Why? Is it supposed to be this way?

  5. @avalanche @ozzie

You say that as if it's a good thing. It's not, and it's totally unnecessary! Look at the uat, based on the current uat there are good points for 3 and 4way setups even for 3d05, 3d03 and all modern 3d. It's not even officially supported anymore and the cost is extreme. What sense is there to bench 3way? I say remove globals and wr points for everything above 2way.

And create gpu categories so that lower end gpus can be benched for globals, just like cpus.

  6. So the New HWbot going ahead ... looking forward to it.

Members who did biggest x15 score previous, if they combined with comp points will shoot up rankings

Positions & rankings will vary alot. So that chase is on again ...:D A new year & a new challenge

    New rankings? Any info?
