Error at 10s

can try:

-enable xmp

-set SA down at 1.1v

-vdd_cpu/vdd2_cpu auto

-ram 1.45/1.46

I had cpu's that didn't like fixed cpu voltages for daily

I have tested on Z790 Tachyon X with X1a, X7p and X7r, everything works fine with 14900ks. Zarok77 is also with 14900ks on his Tachyon without problems. Also on Z790 non X everything is fine with it.

If you are on non X board, F3 Bios is pretty old, I would try new bios for KS

last one is 2 days old with better support for 14900KS

official bios versions for Tachyon X

It was the board itself, thanks :)

Binned Tachyon? Why? They work all on the same level, for Gear4 you can have small differences but for Gear2 they are all same.

Non X board is hard to find, maybe here on marktplace or ebay, but TachyonX is still available in different shops

Can you try to look at the pictures?

690->790(or 790X) for the first time, the bios is not flashed as usual

after 790(690)->790 as usual

I need to enable avx-512 in a z790 aorus elite X ax. Did you find any method? (I have old 12th with avx512 and building a retrograming set)

Hello, you have to replace MCU on your bien by 015 version to be able to enable avx512.

you can do it using MMtool and MCU file on HWbot discord

Usually it`s not enough but he can try my patched version

@sergmann and @Vertex_FR thank you, I was able to patch and avx-512 is ON! But I have no AVX-512 offset or any option at the bios related to avx-512, could be hidden strings?

I can see only 2 strings in bios editor

I have a downbin when I use avx-512 workloads, is there any way to block the core frequency during avx-512 or to recover/insert avx-512 options strings?

@sergmann Can you post Tachy-X bios modded for laptop CPU/non-K?

for the 12600HX you can use X7P bios, it works also fine.
for the non-k cpu´s you must use Z790 X6V Bios because you are not able to select 0x09 microcode.

This is why I´ve used Z790 or Z690 for non-K cpu´s

You can also try to crossflash bios on z790x to the z790 X6V, somewhere here or in th z690 Tachyon Thread was documentation how it´s possible to do

i've tryed crossflash Z790 to Z790 X but the tool is only supporting Z690 chipset.

Use the retail bios if you want the latest update. No need for microcode to be upgraded on a xoc bios for no performance gain.

It is not about performance gain. Asus Apex got recent xoc bios based on a new microcode that enabled some people to run higher memory frequency.

Some people don't understand that a microcode has nothing to do with Mem-OC.

Microcode is used to customize features of a CPU but not to increase mem performance, other settings in the bios are responsible for that.
Mem-OC strongly depends on IMC, mem and settings. If you have the wrong settings, the high clock rate will not work even with the OC bios.

I use 8k CL32 all the time with my old 12900k without any problems, with 14900k you can also use 8400 CL32 for benchmarks without any problems. For 24/7 I would go to CL34 and use a little less voltage.
My settings for voltage are very relaxed, SA 1.23-1.27, VDDQ/VDD2 1.325/1.375 - 1.40/1.45, depending on CPU and the memory clock.

Different Microcode gives me different Mem OC capability going from 8000 to 8400. In some, it requires SA 1.1-1.14v, and in some 1.3+ for my 14900k. Your settings for 14900k are completely off for my 14900k.
