K404 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) Does the card have GDDR on the back too? Was the PCB used for the GT as well? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130286 If so, i'll deffo keep an eye out because i've found it really hard to find good GT cards.... and all of a sudden this competition brings out loads of cards pushing 1050MHz++ on the GDDR3 Edited September 25, 2011 by K404 Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) Does the card have GDDR on the back too? No if it's the one he used for his The Untouchables - usage step-by-step guide with examples'' With Samsung K4J52324QE memory chips: http://www.samsung.com/global/system/business/semiconductor/product/2007/6/11/GraphicsMemory/GDDR3SDRAM/512Mbit/K4J52324QE/ds_k4j52324qe_rev12.pdf Edited September 25, 2011 by Christian Ney Quote
K404 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) If it only has 4 GDDR3 chips, how could it be 512MB? 8800GT needed 8 chips for 512MB, so did 9800 series.... 128MB GDDR3 didn't exist when these cards were made Here it is- nice looking card!! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130290&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=5328933&SID=skim17075X740592X4aec039258e297a614940b214ee5e872 Edited September 25, 2011 by K404 Quote
TiN Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Yes, there are eight DDR3 chips. It's not same card used in guide, that one could not overclock better than 1050 on memory, no matter what I guess it's early sample of this card. Have only single DVI+TVout and 4-pin power connector onboard. As you can clearly see on photo - uses 8600GT SKU Quote
K404 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Hey Tin Thanks for clearing it up Wish I could find an 8600GT 256MB card with such good memory Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Hum, the card on the picture he provided is a N86TS-PB aka GeForce 8600 GTS, I thought it's a 8600 GT only contest ? Quote
cyclone Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Hey Tinny, I expected a little bit more GPU clock power over there! 1110 is doable on much weaker VRMs without any problems! Sorry can't show it right now but I will these days Quote
TiN Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 No time, no time There are more important stuff here to do I know that G84's can do 1200+, had 1160 without much problems with just only 1850mV and -100c on first card, but dram OC sux on that one Quote
