Posted May 4, 201312 yr Hello overclocking community. At the hacking tricks website, I posted vulnerabilities related to CPU-Z's validation. It is possible to produce fake results rather easily. I've been working with the CPU-Z team to improve security. Input sanitation for the results is now included. An upcoming CPU-Z release will be much more secure and trustworthy. I can't speak as to the new security measures or reverse engineering technical process, but ask any questions you may have.
May 4, 201312 yr Crew Good job, hackingtricks! I've worked on detection vurnerabilities that allowed some dishonest members to fiddle with CPU-Z making it believe that a different hardware has been used. Your vurnerabilities are of software protection for the validation process. I appreciate that.
