Pretty sure I'll be there. Gotta wrap up a couple details... will let you know but not much holding the trip back. I'd be really stoked to meet greet burn and freeze! If I come count on a couple OCC s and my system including the purge case. Will let you know for sure in a few days.. oh btw hailing from CALI -
Doing a bunch of testing with the OCC the other day and I uploaded a bunch of progressive HWBOT Prime submissions and of course in the excitement of it all I didn't notice the CPU-z Memory tab was somehow blank. Well on the first of all of the prime submissions that day though, I think it got blocked with the others, but actually did have the mem tab. No biggie but is there a way to have leeghoofd review it again? http://hwbot.org/submission/3209564_

Thanks. Great cooling too :-) We ended up getting a new RVE - wanted the warranty and peripherals. Nice I guess for overclocking. I love being able to monitor voltages and temps etc. L&L's trusty '59 will reach higher heights soon! I'm going to gather up some other gear too. I have a R2E with a i7 960 coming and I can't wait to slap the OCC on that baby and push it! -

Yeah. Thanks so much! Just barely learning settings stuff with chips and mobos. I'm sure I'll be able to achieve more soon. Kind of shooting in the dark right now though. I know for sure the only reason I can run my gear like this is because of the OCC. Someone said that a higher wattage PSU wouldn't help (I'm currently running a 80+ gold 850w). Do you think I'd be able to get better results with a higher wattage, maybe 1300w PSU? -

Just downloaded and installed. It's AWESOME! I feel empowered again! This weekend was so frustrating as my xtu controls had disappeared. It was like driving without a steering wheel. -

I don't think it has level up buttons, but the OC panel has a bunch of buttons... Wow I feel like an old guy trying to figure out how to use a VCR. Here's a pic of the RVE Buttons http://images.anandtech.com/doci/9278/ASUS%20X99%20RVE%20-%20OC.png -

Thanks! What program other than xtu can I raise frequency? The sliders have been greyed out and xtu has been requiring a reboot to make any changes. This never happened with the asrock board. I can't find teh rog AI software either, even though I've installed it twice. -

Hmmm. Can you explain a little? I was told that when you're able to boot past win splash that it's usually just a voltage issue. I was able to get there several times with lockups and bsod at 5.7/5.8. I was hoping it was a voltage issue. -

Well the new board made a big difference. Picked up a new RVE... how fun! But now I see that my power supply can't keep up with the voltage. Currently using 850 watt Thermaltake. Did 5630 mhz on 8 cores but think found the bottle neck of the 850w PSU and wasn't able to go much further. OCC chilled like a king though. http://hwbot.org/submission/3135682_ We'll pick up a 1300-1500w PSU in a week (any suggestions?) and really see what this chip can do. But we should have some good OCC chilled results up from our colleagues before then! . . . -
OK... Finally have a new RVE arrived yesterday. Up and running good. LN2 coming today. I have a question about TIM for my RAM. A while back I had the purge hose pointed directly at the RAM. This is shooting sub-zero GN2 directly at the RAM. I figured it couldn't hurt to cool it... Well I know it froze to a reasonable sub-zero temp because the one of the heat spreaders popped off. I will certainly add some clips from other spreaders to keep the spreaders tight. But I know with the OEM TIM tape from Corsair on the RAM there will not have good heat transfer at -0 temps. My ? is RAM TIM: I have two TIM types. White Arctic Alumina (from Arctic Silver co.) and Thermal Grizzly (crazy expensive BTW - $30 for 11g). I have heard to not use metal based TIM on RAM. Is that bogus speculation? Will the Thermal Grizzly harm the ram? If so I will use the ceramic based AA.
