  1. nice chip. did you test the max mhz in 3d benchmarks? thanks
  2. @sof: of course am3, 01, 03, 05 are interesting. but as i dont have sbe (anymore ) i want to know 3dM11/vantage stable settings. first i was in a "sandy-mood".... like if 6,3ghz would be stable for 1m, 6,2 should work for 3dM11... but ivy doesnt seem to behave like sandy in terms of stablity, so you cant expect every benchmark within a 100mhz range are stable. i guess (not sure yet and waiting for confirmation of the other guys here) that there is a huge gap between cpuz-stability & eg. vantage/11. - if you guys cant share because of nda, please just drop me a message basco and i tested a retail 3770k on mvg 0701bios yesterday: max cpuz: 64xx mhz multiplier 62x & 63x possible to raise in win (asus software - no rog) but 63x not stable. max 3dM11: 61xx mhz interesting: have to boot a minimum of 102,8bclk to prevent from cbb. after boot i cant lower the bclk to 100 -> freeze at 101bclk. it would be cool if you would share some insights of your oc-experience here, like -scaling with volts/temps, -how many chips binned (&mentioning the worst results so the average joe knows already what to get ), -3d stable settings (everybody is posting spi) -etc, etc thanks
  3. just tested a 3770k on mvg and ended up with 6,4 cpuz. @ the 6,9ghz cpuz guys, how high can you bench 3d? (vantage/ 06/ 3dM11)
  4. thanks for sharing edit: how do you guys overclock your ivy? -i guess on asus - rog connect -gigabyte - tool in windows? (i just tried asus, so i have no clue about gb) did anybody try the intel extreme tuning utility mentioned here: http://www.computerbase.de/bildstrecke/40586/3/ is it good? or does it just work on intel boards?
  5. thanks for sharing. how is the die connected to the ihs? any information on how you managed to pop it off?
  6. max bclk we have seen so far is 116. max possible multiplier is 63. so i guess, there isnt much headroom beyond 7ghz.
  7. retested my chip which did 5,8-5,9ghz and could reach 6,3 1m, 6,370 cpuz: http://www.overclockers.at/intel_processors/intel-ivy-bridge-core-i5-3570k-retail-unter-fluess_229576?postid=3316578#post3316578 the difference made the increase of bclk. 60x100 no boot 60x103 boot ok edit: max boot: ~6250mhz, no matter which multiplier. (tested ok: 58x - 61x) max bclk: 109,5mhz cbb: yes, when boot below 102,8bclk ~ -150°C
  8. nick showed 116mhz bclk on facebook. it was a stepping 8 rev. e1 chip if i remember correctly.
  9. beside the test of the card i just couldnt believe i was reading an introduction of a top gen graphics card
  10. totally understand your pov, just found it a lil bit funny to see this picture published in this context
  11. rofl @ sof b!tchin around on hwluxx because somebody released reseller prices and here you go with a beauty-pic of next gen cpus :D (no offence)
  12. thanks for sharing. @1,58v @104 celsius on air... i assume, its retail stepping? tested a rev. e1 (stepping 9) on 14°C water. didnt dare to give more than 1,5v so i ended up with 1,48v 5ghz around max 70°C load (wprime/06/vantage)
  13. yes, but unfortunately i didnt use a Temperature probe so I don't know the exact value. if I would have to guess, I would say cb was pretty low. had some issues with cbb as well. as the chip really seems to be shitty, I'll not waste any more ln2 on it
  14. 1ghz missing somewhere edit: will retest of course (gene IV) but I thought 6 would be easy..
  15. Testes a retail E1 (Stepping 9) on a Gene V yesterday on ln2 and Couldn't get past 6ghz boot. max stable was 5,8, max boot 5,95.
  16. apacish / alvinkenzo is from this suspicious TxxxxxxxxxxN country, right? lets wait for retail results +1
  17. ivy bridge allowed, if the cpus will - lets say - officially be released by 29th of april?
  18. it seems CN works for ikea designing step-by-step assembly manuals right?
  19. hwbot staff will be mad at you, as 50% of calculation power is reserved for sam
