  1. Suggestion: based on the principle of consumer hardware only, 771 should be allowed but only the Skulltrail D5400XS with QX9775s
  2. Sounds like a good name for a competition running january-march with the same stages as team cup but 1 sub per stage rather than 3 More seriously - where does the Fiji-based Radeon Pro Duo sit for the dual-GPU stage? It was released with a choice between gaming and workstation drivers and certainly was sold at retail but I'm not sure about global availability - IMO it's the same kind of rare half-retail as the Titan Z. There was also a Polaris-based pro duo which I'd argue is a pure workstation card.
  3. oof I do find it quite flattering that MLG borrowed our spreadsheet ?
  4. Assuming that titans, RTX, fiji radeon pro duo, HEDT are all allowed, all being retail and not server or ES hardware?
  5. Since I guess it might be relevant again - IDK if it's gonna be optimal hardware this time but at some point can it be acknowledged that Vega M is PCIe 3.0 x8 and not an IGP?
  6. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Guess we'll need to find out if there's any way at all to get XP working on ryzen.
  7. So there's this bug with locked FM1 chips where if you set a higher multi than they allow the chip still accepts it and loads it into the appropriate register, it just ignores it and runs at the multi *it* wants. CPU-Z, bios etc report the multi the chip is being told to run. I'm not sure what the 'real' max multi is for the 3800 but this definitely isn't really running 6.7 However the benchmark here isn't cpu speed so the result, before anyone starts wondering, is fine. If it can be worked out what speed the CPU was really running, the hardware info should probably be updated with the correct speed.
  8. While we're asking for stages with stuff we have good hardware for, can I have an Atom 330 stage? Maybe DDR4 limited to Micron ICs?
  9. Benefits of allowing Titan/RTX: Might get top global scores set in the comp Won't have to put up with complaining from people who bought those cards and want to use them Benefits of banning Titan/RTX: Incentive to still bench hard for countries that don't have people with >$1k hardware Won't have to put up with complaining from people who didn't buy those cards and don't want to be disadvantaged Neutral: Stages with newer midrange hardware would help fill out the database for those cards, but it'd also make them literally near-pointless to bench on ambient I propose a compromise, have a full out 3D stage with any GPU allowed but make it something like Sky Diver where top cards won't really help, then everyone will complain ?
  10. Yeah it's old, and what? It's one of the easiest platforms to get decent OC boards for.
  11. Actually I've been meaning to try and get XP working on AM4, you can get PCIe sata+usb cards that claim to support XP so it should be possible, just got better things to do for the next month. +1 More seriously, cheapaz-style stages would be cool - stuff that forces people to use crap hardware and mod it. EG a 3D Dx11 stage (sky diver?) specifying a GPU that uses DDR3, a 2D stage specifying Intel G31 chipset, possibly another intel mobile stage like TC a few years ago. A retro server/workstation hardware stage (or one where it's a viable option) would be good too - for example 3Dmark Vantage with the only restriction being that you have to use DDR2 for system memory could be really interesting. Also pls no rtx
  12. What, you mean before people start saying " That in itself is enough to toss the subs, and possibly the bench further down the road."? ?
  13. Sold, apparently international postage was worth it.
  14. Having a gradual clearout, bought a job lot of these and pretty sure I don't need quite as many as I have. Pictured with a few different sticks to give an idea of how the fit, sticks obviously not included. TYPE A - 25/50 DIMMS - 7 AVAILABLE Fits up to 50 DIMMs without HS or 25 with HS. These are the same ones you'll find for £4.10 from china if you search 'memory tray' on ebay. TYPE B - 25 DIMMS - 1 AVAILABLE A sturdier tray, fits 25 DIMMs with or without HS. Downside is HS like the geil ones shown here that stick out the edges won't sit all the way down in the tray, lid still sits on them OK but is resting on the DIMMs rather than fully seated. Also an issue with DIMMs that have a big SPD chip right in the top corner. Quite a lot nicer to use though as the lid and slots are a much looser fit. PRICES AND POSTAGE £2/tray (either type). £3 postage within UK (RM 2nd class small parcel), I can fit up to 6 Type A or 4 Type A + Type B in one box. International postage probably wouldn't be worth it. Payment through paypal (goods and services is fine, I'll take the hit on the fees). Also happy to sell for cash if anyone feels like visiting the beautiful historic city of Lancaster.
