Now that mainstream CPUs from both sides get 16 cores, wouldn't it be the right time to ask ourselves if we actually need to split CPU globals per number of cores?
Back when the split was introduced, there were maximum three relevant classes (1,2,4) with a HUGE difference in between. But these days you have at least fourteen (1/2/3/4/5/6/8/10/12/14/16/18/24/32) and it doesn't look like it's going to get any simpler with all the 'exciting' ways that manufacturers can customise their CPU layouts.
It's starting to get very similar to situation with GPU rankings:
- CPUs have 2/3-digit core count, GPUs have 2/3-digit ROP count
- Given core count can be achieved by 1 or 2 cpus (or even core types), given ROP count can be achieved by 1 or 2 cards
- It's very rare that nVidia and AMD release graphic cards with the same ROP count (or even at the same price point) to avoid direct comparisons, Intel/AMD will likely eventually get there too
...and I don't see anyone discussing splitting GPU ranks per ROP count "to give guys with GTX3060 a chance and make it more affordable"

352 GB of RAM in one thread. Is that a new record?

With recent developments in P45 FSB, it's only a matter of time before sub 7s gets done.

Very weak score. Should do much better ones with LN2 and your hoard.

Do Xeons have x6.5 multi actually working?
-
So you also bought this one as well? :)

@wytiwx So, setting #2 is actually 750MHz / DDR3-1500 mem speed, which falls perfectly in line with the DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 results you've posted

fastest Allendale 32M ever, hell yeah!
E8600 when?

This is actually quite a bad CPU. Most '2007 G0 chips will do 550+ FSB on LN2.

Beating my scores is becoming quite a theme recently, eh? :D

One more SetFSB step and you're there

Please don't follow the urge to collect memory kits. Collectors are the plague of the benching community. Items made in low volumes are hard to find as they are, and people who let them fall apart in their drawers to satisfy their ego aren't exactly helping.

I think you forgot the screenshot.

200% OC the hard(er) way. Was considering doing this back in 2008-2010 but never got around to it. Awesome job!

You could get 3500 EUR for this CPU back in the day :)

Yes, 2500C9 are X-PSC only.
These are usually not tragic, but also not as good as you might expect from second highest retail 2GB PSC bin.

If that's a 9-11-9 kit then it's built from whatever garbage they had laying around at that time.
Most likely T-series PSC.
Might also be X-series PSC or Hynix 2Gbit BFR, but not very likely.
If Patriot were really high on cocaine, they might have even used Elpida 2Gbit BCSE.
Virtually no chance for Hypers or BBSE.- 1

So the worlds fastest quadcore is some crappy hp box, got it
Could be worse, could be a Ryzen 5400U-based laptop

Drop down and give me 3min37, private !

The switch happened only on kits whose specs allowed for it. As much as G.Skill would like to use cheaper ICs on, say, 2400C8 PI, there simply aren't any alternatives out there.
It's not impossible to find 1600C7 with X-series that are new, but chances are those won't be good.
Normally most 2200 9-9-9 kits are BBSE, but from the seventh digit of the bottom marking, I see it's a "C" or a "D", indicating Elpida BCxx (which officially never existed) or BDBG/BDSE.

Redundancy of CPU-Z

Agreed.
Just a few things to consider:
