The official GIGABYTE Spring Extreme Competition thread.
kirbster replied to zeneffect's topic in HWBOT Competitions
As I said, it won't stop me from trying and pushing. I was able to improve almost every score over my original regular bot submissions. But that is all I got. So now I will just sit back and see how far down I end up at the finish. It's still great practice and I learned a few things this round for sure. Didn't mean it to sound like sour grapes. Just the reality of the situation. -

I must admit i do like the contests that have prizes for the top scores, but throw in a few random draws. Doesn't matter how far you can push with ambient cooling, once the LN2/Dry Ice/cascade guys get involved, there is no chance. Won't stop me from trying, but who doesn't like to feel like they have a chance at winning something (mousepad? mouse?T-shirt?). -

I did the same thing and had to rerun. I did a bit better the second run anyway so it worked out ok for me. -
A lot of my old submissions are complaining about no picture so it isnt according to the rules......yet it is according to the rules!

Sandy Bridge 2500K/2600K Batch and Serial Numbers
kirbster replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge (P67/Z68) OC
I have had 3 2600k and the first was the best 5300mhz. others were 5100 and 5200. Picked up a 2500k and it boots at 56. Still need to test it more. will post batch later. -
my rank seems messed up. I am listed #9 in canada in my profile but when you click on it i am #1 in the listing, so which is correct?
-
i moved myself to overclockers league and nothing at all changed in my ranking. So the ranking is definitely borked. Makes it hard for us to understand how the changes in V4 will affect our rankings.
-
no way enthusiast league is correct. i went from 380th in rev 3 to 10xxx in rev4. calculations cannot be right.

I dont think this is a good idea at all. Otherwise we should just tell everyone that you can only bench this cpu or that gpu. Why limits? if the person wants to invest more time and effort then it should pay off. Sounds a bit too much like public school where everyone gets a ribbon, just so the ones not doing as well wont "feel bad". It is like anything in life, higher effort should gain better results....no?

will give it a whirl on the weekend..

My rankings dont look right, I have 286 points but i rank way down the list for some reason. I think i may just stick with teh Overclockers league anyways, I do not have pictures of all of my stuff and alot of it has been gone for a while now, i just rotate teh stock so to speak. Also, what good does a picture do anyways...They can be faked, or not even from your hardware....

Totally jealous...I am stuck with two chips, one will do 5288 the other 5188.... -
None of the F7 variants work very well for me. I get really inconsistent booting, even at default bios settings. F6x has been the most stable for me. I must admit on several occassions i have contemplated "fixing my pc with a hammer". Just changing boot priority would sometimes result in a boot failure.....
-
Still no PLL overvolt setting with this BIOS.
-
Confirmed for UD7- No PLL Overvoltage option... weird they would remove it....?
-
Any changelog for teh Gigabyte BIOS'? Thanks Stasio

you must use windows based flash program @BIOS from Gigabyte.
