What Bios are you guys using on the UD7? I have the F7d and it is very sensitive. I am getting a little aggravated with the inconsistent booting. Switching which hard drive to boot from should not cause the system to fail to post.....grrrrrr.

Thanks! Crossfire tonight......see if I can improve at all. -
So if the only thing required to qualify as unique hardware is a different videocard, I see several scores that were higher sent in by one team member that are not counting toward the average. EG: I have 102XXX and 109XXX and one of my team mates scores of 100XXX is counted instead of my 102XXX. So is it best submission per team member as well or could one team member, using different cards contribute the top scores for the team?

I will tray again, but i havent been able to duplicate. Newer proper submission is only 106xxx. -
Mine is also stuck at 53 multi. And it needs a lot of volts to do that. 1.6V! Tried in my UD4 and my UD7 no difference. Contemplated digging out my water cooler, but am beginning to think it wouldnt be worth the effort. Can't really complain though. 5.3 on air! Not even super high end air either. Zalman CNPS10X Performa with push/pull.

I did.....

Had some luck today. Stable 5188mhz @ 1.58V. Got greedy and tried 54x. Got an automated bios reflash. I am using different ram, but i dont think that was it. Thanks! Gonna keep playing.

Anything you are willing to share? I haven't been able to get past my 47x multi at all.

me too.. how do you flash the backup bios? or can you? -
Yup D2, i hope a Bios update will solve, but according to info out there some chips just won't go any higher. Time will tell. I am supposed to get a UD7 as well, I will try the same chip when i get it and see if the board has any effect at all. Eventually i may just buy another retail cpu as well and play some cpu roullette!
-
Yes, and for my chip at least, it does nothing! Must just have one of those chips that wont go. Any other changes in the bios you are making? Vtt/PLL?
-
I still cannot get my UD4 with the modded F6x bios to make any difference at all. I am using one of several F5 bioses available on GBT ftp. None of those makes any difference either. Does anyone here have a UD4 we can compare bios settings with to see if I cant get a bit more out of mine? Hard wall at 4.7. Completely stable, nice and cool, temps around 65C max (Intel Burn Test). If i try 4.8 i usually end up with an auto reflash from the backup BIOS.
-
mine is a D2. I will try some more....
-
Yes I tried that. Any other settings you are finding have an effect on the overclock? I am using Adata DDR2000 @ the 1866 setting. The rig is rock stable at 4.7 but will not boot at 4.8. Even with CPU voltage of 1.5v. I will play with this a bit more tonight. I may wait for an official Gigabyte bios to play with this further.
-
I have a UD4. Have a hard limit of 47. Still figuring the bios out a bit. What do you have to do in the new bios to eliminate the hard limit? I had some serious bios corruption already and had it rebuild from the backup bios. 47 is real easy. everything on auto. CPU voltage around 1.38v.
