You might as well gut/close this thread. What,somebody wants to spend all that time learning to bench 4 chips for hw points? + spend $$ on an Areca 1882ix at least + 3-8 ssds. No new chips will ever get a decent amount of PcMark HW points. I used to make a muscle every time the bob80 kicked in.

Indeed you can now..I'm struggling for 4 ..and the newest one is 2600K. Just to list the ones with any meaningful points I can think of:2600k,i7 920,q6600. That's no fun.Well..options are very limited. The other one is 980x!

Something tells me it was not all Christian Ney's idea to remove globals from Pcm05 What's the real story? Do we need Pieter memes or wat? as my boints keep slipping down.. and the fucks I give are zero at this point.

Your opinion of PcMark has been known for years. You said something to that effect 2 years ago What I would be "scamming" ebay for would be older GPUs and for older GPUs guess what? you have to run the legacy 3d benchmarks. ...which you guys are planning to axe next. So I'd be buying a gpu..modding it. buying cold juice..running the bench then whoops..no more globals for that bench, either. so there's really no point (s). (I really don't know much 3d) I was about to start..but after seeing how the rumors come true around here.. Homie ain't playing that. Enthusiasm=gone.

That's ok..you sponsored guys just have your little circle-jerk fest. I buy my own hardware. ..of which about $900 worth was just made useless by this action. I notice the only 2 older pieces of hardware on front page today are Splave and Wizerty with 4870s running Aquamark. ..which you guys are looking to axe next. way to go. The reason people don't play Pcm05 much is that there's a steep learning curve. You can't just OC and expect competitive results,you have to read the tweaking thread and ask around as well. There's no reason to run Pcm05 now except on old,old stuff.. No sense in running it on 4790K ..only worth 2 boints...even though that could a WR possible. I do have a q6600, I suppose I'll try on that before I sell all the gear and clean my HDD of Pcmark images. Like I said,I'm going to sell it all and buy me a nice system. buy..that is. PS:There's no new,good benchmarks to replace it.For that matter there are no new good benchmarks.(maybe the 3d futuremark ones) Catzilla is awful,XTU..eh..s'ok..HWbotprime..eh..s'ok but the PCmarks have been really terrible since '05 You know how many views MOA had last time I checked? 61 and the numbers go down..around here.bet..

That is correct.After buying 5 CPUs to bin for 1 benchmark. Yeah;The lack of Global single core points is what stops me. No motivation.What..I spent hours of setting up,binning 145s, and buy LN2 for 6-7 Hardware points? I don't think so. Yes,I buy certain 1-2-3-4-5-6 core chips just for Pcmark. well,not anymore I guess. Because there's no point in it. Run GTX 980s on the latest enthusiast platform or you might as well just hang it up around here. Tell ya what. Why would you do that after we voted? I have a RAID + OS Crosshair V setup for pcm05 + Sempron 145. There's no point in even getting LN2 and running it now. Disincentivisation is not good for keeping people motivated to use this site. So,even though a vote was taken,who cares what was voted?

For that RAM..it was 1.76-1.83v on air.. That RAM dies kinda quick..just a heads up.

It's a crime that even though we all voted to keep Pcm05 globals. ..and thought it was all settled.. that someone decided "hey f-u-c-k you guys,I'm taking away globals for Pcm05 " They are gone. You spend hours learning a benchmark,buy the best RAID card you can,4 ssds that you never use..all for a bit of fun. Looping Pcmark for hours just to get everything to kick in right like you know it can. ..and it was fun Then some one person decides he doesn't want that..nevermind what other people want. PcMark05 was one of the most fun benches there was. a)You had to know the tweaks b) You could run it on any CPU c) You did need some specific hardware to excel at it. You can ban me or whatever. I'm about to quit. What's the point? People have thousands of dollars tied up in hardware for the bench and this one guy (even though we voted last month ago to keep ) does away with globals for Pcm05. There's no point in continuing on here. This is how I feel about this. I'm just going to sell all I had for benching,buy a nice system and forget HWbot. Why do I have a RAID card? Pcm05 Why do I have 4 SSDs I never use? Pcm05 Why do I have this chip or that chip? Pcm05 Cutting down benches people like is NOT the way to attract people to this hobby.
