One thing I don't fully get though: Since manufacturers don't know Hwbot, but only the people who win in live events, why are people assigned to teams rather than having the manufacturers choose the people they want on their team?

Must've mis-read. The country rankings are possibly even less about measuring the skill of an individual. Remember: this is about selecting individuals, not teams.

Why teams? It's a characteristic of the Hwbot team league that one or two members do not define the greatness of the team: all people who are member of the team play a role in the ranking of the team. The team's points is a combination of high-end benchers (who take care of the global points) and low-end benchers (who take care of the hardware points). This competition is about two-person teams and about global only. Hence, selecting people who either score high in the hwbot bencher's league OR have been proven to be excellent overclockers in the past is the most logical way to go. In the current list of overclockers, I see most of the selected overclockers are indeed part of one of the two groups; which doesn't mean that there are no other people who are in either of those groups.

As much as I'd like to see the Hwbot ranking as the one-and-only ranking for skill ... it's not. There are many big names missing in that top10 and not because they "suck @ oc". I know many guys will be disappointed not to be included, but frankly they'll have to live with it. This F1 OC league is the first to be organised, so it's normal not everything will be 100% in order. Furthermore ... this is just a test season.

So, except for the UK team ... who else is missing in the list of invited overclockers?

Yes ... we had a quick vote on the secure section to decide who we'd try to remove from hwbot this week and sadly enough, your name popped up. So, now we are indeed modifying, changing and even deleting results only because don't want you to participate and would like you to take a hike. Just in case: it's sarcasm. What scores are getting modified, changed or deleted? You're complaining that you don't know about those actions but to be fair ... you know more than I do. Please elaborate and we'll take a closer look ... I reckon this is a matter of moving scores to an appropriate section and blocking if there's a lack of verification. More details will help us both out here Thanks!

Had the same issue - unable to publish my 106k single card score. I asked FM as well and it seems to be a bug with my score, so they won't even enable it manually.
