  1. The 4266 kit looks like a nice kit

I got lucky, ordered a kit for a friend overseas and he convinced me to get one as well. He only had one stick capable of 12-19 so had to run 12-20. I was going to sell them but finally found a couple hours to give them a second look and now not so sure. I still have 2 kits 3733 TridentZ to give a thorough try and just got my 3600 White Dragons so something has to go as the winter months are slow for home remodeling projects. Aka my only source of income

  2. XTU is all about efficiancy of memory and tight timings, voltage used for core speed, cooling efficiantcy or lack thereof etc. You must be thermal throttling at 99 - 100C so scores will be similar since its running at lower speed, using close to 1.5v to run 4900mhz is not great and the memory timings have serious issues for good xtu or other memory centric tests such as GeekBench 3 and 32m Super Pi. You need to be using PSC based or Samsung based ic'sthat can run tWCL=6 and Dram ref cycle at 112 or less, frankly your secondary and tertiary timings are bad. You should be seeing a lot more 4's and 5's and you only have like two of them that low. You must be using hynix based ic ram and that is only good for max frequency and make sure the dimms are not single sided. Other ic options that can run tight timings are Elpida bdbg, bbse and hyper. Find a way to be effeciant and you will score the same using far less cpu speeds

  3. I shouldn't need anywhere near those Sytem agent & IO volts I don't think, I am only using +0.125 for SA and AUTO for IOD/IOA, and 2860 was running fine

I'll add more if I need though. I'll go and try all those settings shortly.

I just quickly chose the nick shih 2933 preset and tightened mostly just the main timings. I set 2.25v cause I knew it would boot and left the rest auto. Those mems can run those timings at lower volts plus setting manually the sa and io volts does help. The pic was supposed to give you a starting point for timings as the rest varies. Oh and here on Earth, we say thank you icon10.gif

  4. Still testing some stuff, I know this is not superpi 32m, but I figured I'd take a screenshot of my timings and ask some questions.

vdimm @ 2.15v, how much headroom do I have? I really want to see if I can get 2933 9-13-13 to run or something like that.

I am unsure if I need to loosen RTL to get 2933 to work, I don't really know much about RTL and stuff like that.

Also for some reason TWR is displaying as 18, but in BIOS I'm fairly sure I have it set to 10. (I'll go fiddle with this and see what's up)

Instead of trying something like 9-13-13-17, try 9-12-12 but you may have to raise tRAS up to 21-24 and or tREFI as high as 128. Actually here are perfect settings to start with and tighten from here. Rtl's probably wont get to 41-42 unless u have 2 dimm board or some cold aka -35C

  5. http://www.servethehome.com/intel-xeon-e5-2670-v1-prices-still-plummeting/

You can pick one up right now on Ebay for around $130.00, just in the last 10 days prices have dropped close to $100. Just keep in mind there are two major stepping versions to look for:

SR0H8 is C1 stepping. VT-x is supported but VT-d is supposedly not supported

SR0KX is the C2 stepping with the VT-d fix which may be important for virtualization pass-through

  6. Vcore was just that, 1.540 volts at 6100 mhz, 1.45 cache volts and 2.407 vccin. I am certanly hoping to shoot for more but this cpu is very finicky about the 3 voltages above and the imc has troubles with psc and samsung ic. The TridentX kit used is fully capable of 2933c9 12 12 21 112 with tCWL at6 and refi at 30000. Using psc mg's capable of 2750+ mhz at 6 10 6 24 68 and cas write latency of 6 I think 2600 c7 11 7 27 was as tight as I could go

  7. When should we expect it to be posted? Any chance I can get this and my Thermal Grizzly shipped together? :P

This would make me a happy man, I've been reusing my TG for 2 weeks on Z97 and did all 7 delid's using vice method and do not feel like risking my only 6700k
