l3gendluk3 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Glad we got that settled, according to a forum member it may have been glitched out by cpu-z monitoring my RAM Quote

Guest harrynowl Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 You certainly can, Rookie rumbles are designed for... well.. rookies! Quote
l3gendluk3 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Welcome to hwbot bocahoc! Rookie rumble is the best place to gain some experience in the world of overclocking. Good luck and have fun! Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Also don't forget to ask any questions. I/We are more than willing to help. Quote
than0s Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Great maxxmem read score junkdogg! What voltage did you use to get 9-9-9-28 timings? Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 1.65V mate. They are TridentX with Samsung PCB's though. Pretty hard to find now. Quote
newlife Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 JD the ram you have should be good for around 2.1v (benching only, not 24/7 as it will damage the IMC) Quote
Massman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 hi all, i'm just newbie in here. hope i can get some experience by joining this rookie rumble  Hey Hey!  Indonesia has a great overclocking community. I'm sure you will find similarly minded people around your neighbourhood. Oh, and the folks here at the bot are pretty awesome too :D Quote
l3gendluk3 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I can honestly say im not getting good hwbot marks at all. I'm at 5.3 GHz with slightly overclocked ram at 2000 MHz and im only getting 6600 (825 per core) marks. Anyone got any advice? Also having trouble beating that RAM speed junkdog, good work Quote
newlife Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 What java version are using? Hwbot prime doesn't care about memory only clock speed and java version. Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Bot Prime mate is all about the right chip for the right job. I've found it's really hit and miss. I've found the older FM2 chips do really well where the latest version example A10-7850K doesn't do Prime well at all. Â As Newy has said there is a lot in JAVA version that can get you a extra 100 points some times. It's a bit of a experiment really. Â I would of went through 20 odd different JAVA versions before I settled on the one I use for Prime now. Â Thanks for that about the mem score mate. I've still got another just in case. I found it's best to tweak with CPU Freq and mem freq until you get close then experiment with timings to get a bit more bost in your score. Also the score can go back down if you go to tight on the timings which sort of blew me away for a bit. Â I'll send you a PM Luke about some more stuff too. Quote
l3gendluk3 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Im using Version 7 update 67 (build 1.7.0_67-b01). Â It is only detecting 4 out of my 8gb of ram, would this affect performance? Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Nah bugger all with Prime. I've done quite a bit of testing with it it's more aboiut CPU Freq and the right architecture. Quote

Everybody has a right to know about little tweaks like java version so it would be good to keep as much as possible public since it only benifts the OC community as a hole Edited September 16, 2014 by newlife Quote

I actually didn't send a PM for some reason it dissapeared when I pressed the button. It was mainly just inviting Luke to join us over at OCAU in the HWBOT Discussion thread as the guys there have a lot of info they can share and help out with the stupid questions.  As for any other tweaks, I"ve also found Prime responds to NB freq a little as well. So push it up as much as you can gents. Quote
newlife Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Some stuff is fine to keep secret but this being a rookie rumble and all  And in that case here's the team thread http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=1000474 Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Yeah I try and help as much as I can. Quote
l3gendluk3 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Anyone know who I can contact to get my hwbot score changed? Quote
l3gendluk3 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I did my hwbot prime bench on 2 cores but when I uploaded it to hwbot, it automatically thought I was doing it on 8 Quote
Massman Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 That's by default the case. Â We allow unlocking more cores, but not disabling cores. So the engine will always calculate the score based on the default amount of available cores, or higher. Quote
JunkDogg Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Well done zwitterion. I've got nothing up left mate nor the time to try. Â I'm guessing a ice bucket was being used? Â Quote
Oxydgen Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 i used cold water (2-3 °C)!! With my AIO Corsair ! Quote
