Calathea Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hello. Tried xp with my 970 on ln2 today. Can't change clocks, especially memory. Driver is 344.11. Any fast tips before I run out of ln2? Quote
Alex@ro Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 What card?GTX980 here, can reach same clocks as win7,asus strix with stock bios/elmor bios. Quote
Calathea Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Gigabyte g1. Something was very wrong, I got locked mem freq to 3000 MHz (1500) too, could not change. Quote
Moose83 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Mine MSI But card stays 300-162 all the time in XP Quote
Calathea Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Sucks to be the guinea pig/early adopter some times In time I'm sure we'll see all Maxwell cards working ok in XP. Quote

l0ud_sil3nc3 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Asus 980 strix mate Very nice, the Strix has a very efficient bios, even for many other vendors cards. I have not even tried to install XP with the 980 yet, but 1500 memory clocks are a problem that needs to be fixed for sure. Quote
Strat Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 What happens with a fixed mem frequency bios? Quote

I haven't tried no fixed memory "ln2"bios yet,im still on std bios.I thought people were getting the same problem from the fixed bios "ln2"as well Guess I should try a fixed bios? Strong Island Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Asus 980 strix mate use one of the locked 3d memory bios's. You still obviously can't change mem freq. but mem will be overclocked. I am using the 980_88 bios in win xp now and it's working great, mem speed is what it should be 2200. Also nvpmm works good so the card will stay at max boost even when under a low load like 3d 01. it works great. Edited December 29, 2014 by Strong Island Quote
