One of my best PI sticks is already dead and I think it would be better to get the heatsinks on the other kit off, but afraid I may damage some of the ICs while doing so and then will be left with no good memory. phobosq Posted April 10, 2015 Share Posted April 10, 2015 I spent whole evening yesterday with Flares ripping the HS off. First a slight twist with a flat screwdriver on both sides just to get the glue loose around 1st and 8th IC, then I taped the golden pins to avoid damage and gently lifted it from the bottom applying force around each of the ICs. It took me about 40 minutes for one module, this glue was quite strong, but if you do it patiently, you should be fine. I imagine that Pis will require the same.
