Rampagexx79 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 How are you guy doing I having trouble with the new xtu is not working on i7 4820k The problem is once I click on benchmark it won't work but if use The older version work fine but is not support it on hwbot Quote
Massman Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hi Overnight, Which version are you using specifically? Any version after v5.1.2 should work for HWBOT submission. Quote
SoF Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 issues here as well - new (latest) version says "check if there is another perf tool running" ... but there ain't one... Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Sounds like someone at Intel needs to actually try this thing before it's released Quote
GtiJason Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 That's exactly what was happening to me Quote
cjgdsgrc50 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 This same message came up for me last night. I unistalled and reinstalled and it is gone. Quote
Blu3 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Same for me. You should try work on normal mode, without any disabled services. Quote
Massman Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Sounds like someone at Intel needs to actually try this thing before it's released Just to follow up on this. The newest version of XTU always officially supports three generations prior to the current platform. So for XTU 6.0+ this includes: Skylake, Haswell(-e), and Ivy Bridge(-E). This does not necessarily mean it won't work on older platforms, like Sandy Bridge, it means there is no validation in place. We've been looking at the problem and it appears some users are able to run the benchmark with Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge-E. Others can't. Still looking for the problem ... Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Will HWBot continue accepting older versions for older chipsets? Looks like we could have an issue here where scores are untouchable because older versions score better and/or newer versions won't even run. Quote
Massman Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Older versions scoring better is something that shouldn't be a problem. Nothing of the XTU updates impacts the benchmark code; it's mostly adding support for overclocking new platforms. Currently XTU versions from v5.1.2 are supported. Older versions are no longer supported because of security updates. Actually, Genieben found some issues that Intel fixed Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 So, as of now, all hardware that can run XTU can still receive verification? What about when Intel stops supporting older sockets? Will SS be good enough at that point, similar to old FM benchmarks? Quote
Massman Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 As of now, all hardware that is able to run XTU (Sandy Bridge and up) should be able to get the correct verification. There's been internal testing with Sandy Bridge which is able to run the benchmark. That doesn't mean some people aren't experiencing problems. That's what we're trying to look into. I'm not entirely sure what the course of action may be in the future. It's possible that a newer version of XTU could feature a benchmark 2.0, in which case it would just be a new benchmark application. I don't anticipate hardware support being dropped at the moment. Massman Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 On a sidenote: if anyone has issues with the XTU benchmark, can you also check that HPET is enabled in the BIOS? Quote
