In general you are right, although I think emergence of ocable platforms that rival server like tr pro and w3175x makes wr pts actually about ocing and not borrowing clients cpu time. And for best results you still need ln2 which you won't run on borrowed system. Maybe wr pts are still bad idea for bot as a whole I just want to see people run ln2 and go hard on these big chips ?

Yes, I looked at the current WRs and indeed a few multithreaded 2Ds are actually overclocked systems. But maybe that is because no one has run those benchmarks on 112C intel platform? I would not mind the Threadrippers getting a few points, but overall I would rather see more points for cheaper benching than more points for ultra expensive setups.

Revamping the global points system completely to separate CPUs and GPUs by low/mid/high/ultra instead of by number of cores would fix so many things here on hwbot...

I kinda want this just to see some of the insane hardware people will play with to compete. I think Splave has a point about ranking though, if it truly is WR ranking and one person has spots 1 through 4 (on different hardware) and someone claims spot 5 it shouldn't be ranked as spot 2.

Multi GPU 3D is irrelevant at this point (sadly).

In FSE, TSX, Port Royal, GPUPI v3.3 - 32B, SP 1080X and SP 8K you have to go for Multi GPU if you want to get WR Points for the first five or more places...
