ceemic Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Hi! Sorry if this has been asked. I hadn't time to search... How is results ordered in ranking, when several users have exact same time in Super Pi 1M? It seems the higher CPU MHz has better place. But why? Shouldn't we consider "performance"? Thanks in advance! Quote
Massman Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 The earlier the result is submitted, the higher in ranking IF same score, as far as I know. Quote
Massman Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Too bad It's an incentive to go even faster? Quote
CaNNon Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Too bad I don't think so, tying the run is not the same as dethroning the run. sounds like a fair way to handle it to me. Quote
ceemic Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Massman, You're right on that CaNNon, Yes true I just wanted to know how these rankings are done... Quote
ceemic Posted April 3, 2009 Author Posted April 3, 2009 I use this thread to ask almost the same question. My team-mate did a SuperPi1M run with P4 D805: http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=838393 He is placed #15 with 29,906sec but the user in #14 has 29,907sec time. http://hwbot.org/listResults.do?cpuModelId=740&applicationId=3&filterUser=true&filterBlocked=true&limit=100 Is that a bug due to numbers "rounding"? Yeah, and if HWBot thinks the scores are the same, then the older one is on top. Quote

Is there any plans to go from 1/100 s to 1/1000 s at 1M? In times when getting under 10 s it would really make sense... Quote
ceemic Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 There's no question, this run is faster. So maybe can some moderator change the order? Tnx! Quote
Jaan Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 It is a OT for this thread, but there is another small "bug" to fix- according to hwbot, the fastest CPU is running at 8,1Hz . Why? -Small "m" means milli, big "M" is mega http://hwbot.org/hallOfFame.do?type=result&applicationId=13 Quote
Crew stummerwinter Posted April 5, 2009 Crew Posted April 5, 2009 Beencounters... But you are right... Quote
ceemic Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 I asked lolloom to delete his submission and submit it again. So we'll see in few minutes, how this time the order goes... Quote
Massman Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 if it's implemented it can only be done for new scores FYI Not by editing older scores? Quote
