Blah, i bet everyone who actually is interested can take part this comp. There have been enough time to get parts ready like i have been doing almost 2 months now Sure it takes lot of money but if u wanna try then u just have to try. Itse more that do u wanna take part or not, thats my opinion Atleast they are willing to do this kind of events. In the past there were much more these but now msi is almost only manufacturer who does this..

Yeah placed order already for msi Z77 board (MOA) and maybe one gigabyte coming soon too, just bored and wanted to test that chip Maybe i will test that chip under LN2 just to be sure it isnt good one.. Nice cpu's u have there, hope that mine will do atleast that 6.5-6.6 somehow.

Tested lilbit further with maximus-z and it can do 4.9ghz 4/8 1.35v, 5Ghz need 1.45v and 5.1GHz need 1.55v. (all over 4.9GHz is 4/4 only) Makes me thinking if it just wont scale further with voltage so easily after that 4.9GHz point or is this cpu just that crappy afterall. Have u seen same kind behaviour with your cpu's massman? Edit: And im using warm water so temps wont go so high, thats why i used all cores. 2/2 didnt make any difference.

How about spi 32M rules, do u have to use msi GPU on that too? I dont find any good reason why thats necessary since it doenst affect score anyway.

Mine chip's imc is maybe crap... I can boot with 2200Mhz rams but only setting wich still was stable to run 32M was only 1600MHz -.- It can do 1.35v 4/4 cores 4.9GHz but then 5GHz need almost 1.45v, dont know if those problems is cuz of z68 maximus. Have to get one Z77 board for proper testing..

imo i think sharing rule was good for this one.. It says that u cant share parts with other competitors so why dont u teamup with someone who got msi mb or somthing you dont? I have prepared and bought one part at time for this qualifier and i think buying msi motherboard wont be problem after buying 600euros GPU and 320euros cpu? Everyone will not agree maybe, but still its more fair for those ones who actually spend they moneys alone for all the parts wich is needet in this kind competition. Now if u can only add one rule, that competitors have to buy their own hardwares, wich will not happen i bet hehe..

So it was like i tough too when i looked air results about cpu's wich did good on ln2 Time to start looking good chip for qualifier and hope i will get one proper one before time ends!

Other drivers didnt help at all. 1180/1800 max or 1200/1700. (12.3 and 12.4 drivers tested so far) Hopefully it scales even more with temperature. On those runs max temp was around 70c. Petris ref card did only 1200MHz on air and ~1650MHz on LN2 if i remember right

What kind of max clocks others got on air? (More importantly, what then they can do with ln2 ) Just got mine card yestarday and on air it can do only 1200MHz on core with 1.175v. More vcore wont help. Maybe this one does even more with LN2 then, first i try cold water and later this month ln2 hopefully!

What u guys think, im now testing this chip on Maximus IV Z68. So far i managed to get 56x102,4 = 5735Mhz stable. Problems comes when i try to go in windows with 5750 or higher, it just starts load windows and just when windows should pop up it just crashes, no boot or nothing just freezes threre. I can do that until 5860Mhz and then it freezes at boot. Do u have any advices what i can try to get past that 5735Mhz. It seems like sata port problem or somthing. Voltages: vcore tryed 1.55-1.7, vccio 1.1-1.26, cpu pll 1.6-2.1.

Im aware of that already and maybe have one coming already, dont wanna sell this one yet since im maybe keeping this for 24/7 use

Ye i tough so too and maybe some guys borrow their cpu:s for their friends etc.. I will try more with decent mb and more voltage on vcore. Altough this 5.7gh is almost best what i have seen in finland My last 2600k cpu did 55x with asus mb right away and with gigabyte it did only 54x so i hope i will see somthing like that again Maybe i try lilbit more pll voltage too cuz one of mine chip scaled fev mhz even 2 -> 2.05v

Have anyone actually had any improvements from goin -40c to -70c etc? I have cpu doing 57x easily on air,water and SS but 58x stucks on windows loading. I didnt push more voltage YET, 1.57v max on vcore and 1.94pll. Have only old sucky UD4 B2 board and already broke my ssd so i will wait until my Maximus IV comes home before i test this more There seems so many over 5900Mhz chips on hwbot rankings suddenly and that makes me thinking maybe theres some setting wich makes this more common..

I suppose that it doesnt matter what multiplier it boots or tryes to boot, seems like only thing that matters is what multi it can go to windows and then hope that it will scale up lilbit with cold

Thanks! I didnt take any screenshots of this run because i was sure that i will be able to do 1400MHz core to -.- Too bad i was hoping too much for first LN2 run with this card.. Hopefully i can bench some more in next months and this time with 980X on ln2 too I can improve performance for sure because this was just clean win7 instal and ran the mark

WOW, sick scores!! I hope mine is even nearly this good 970/1300 max on stock cooler and i have a feeling that memory will ran pretty well on LN2, lets see on this week when LN2 comes This card is with OCP mod isnt it?

Nice contest and im sure im taking part of this too Too bad that my chip have some problems with over 54x multi and more.. Does anybody yet know is that multiplier problem in montherboard/bios or at processor itself? Example, my cpu can do 54x100 but it can only do 53x with 101bclk. It will work just fine with 106bclk but then max multiplier is only 51x. Thats lilbit weird and it seems like its not cpu limited, il see what new gigabyte board can do with this. Now im using Asus P8P67 vanilla only -.- Great chip otherways when it can do 5400MHz wPrime 1024M with 1.45v (Ht on ofcourse)
