Thank you for fixing that Alex.

Sorry Alex, but your solution here doesn't agree with the rules.
3.4. Unlocked CPUs and Modded Video Cards
Again this is a subject where we have to trust on the honesty of the submitter; if you have a CPU with unlocked multiplier, please only submit results under the hardware category of its original model. Don’t emulate other models to gain HWboints, if you are caught you will get penalized or even banned. The same goes for video cards which are modified either with a flashed BIOS or modded software, post your scores in the category of the original hardware.

No official backround for this competition?
-
Why the bridge mod to MP? It offers no better performance, unless you intend on running two of them in a dual CPU board. Or did you just add the note because I reported the submissions for being in the wrong category?

To avoid this kind of massive attacks in the future, I'd like to see Team Captains take responsibility and ease down the crowd so the staff and the involved team members could come to an agreement. A Team Captain calling upon the support of all members to riot against HWBOT, like here ...
... makes it all the more difficult to find a solution as the key messages get lost in the flood of hate-messages. It's already quite difficult to communicate on the internet, having a discussion about a delicate subject with a couple of dozen angry forum members just makes things even more difficult.
Thanks!
You might be able to control content here, but you have a snowballs chance in hell of controlling content on somebody else's site.
I dig my new user title BTW. It's much classier than just calling me some profanic name.

When it comes to moderation we can only go on what we have in front of us and looking at those results, it looks like a rule violation.
See post 106 then.
-
Then Dejo would be lying, which goes into him being up front and honest?
Which you didn't believe, and got him nowhere anyway right?
If you're gonna be convicted and penalized, you might as well do the crime and make it worth it.
-
Let's define 'household' as '1st and 2nd degree relative under 18 regardless of location'.
Dejo - tell them she's a foster child.
I can play games too man.
-
Let's add this line to the rules and this situation is solved .
Nice out. Inadvertently, you win again.
Dejo - set up your daughters account through a proxy and tell them she moved out.
-
It could be argued that one of the accounts be banned for violating our result sharing rules
Based on what.....similiar screenshots? Ridiculous.
See post 106
I'd be more suspicious of that.
-
And this isn't the whole case where I've seen results like this.
And nothing has been about this for the same reason, lack of proof positive. Yet the law is being laid down on the father/daughter for "potentially suspicious" activity. Ironic huh.
-
So what is the difference accusing someone of cheating or voicing your perception that that person might be cheating? Why on earth are we taking decisions on how people might perceive actions, what happened to good intentions and respecting people intentions?
Oh, you didn't know?....It depends on who you are.
-
Moderating at HWBOT isn't exact science. Sadly enough, we don't have the support of a scientific research team to find fingerprints or dna-evidence.
It's a pity, would've really loved to see an episode of 'CSI The Bot'.
I understand that, but consistancy in enforcement can be upheld.
Also, I find the sarcasm you use when backed into a corner, amusing.
-
Oh, is that how it is?
Cool, so no more complaints of people accusing others of cheating, sharing hardware and sharing scores?
Yeey! The future of HWBOT staff looks so bright!
Not at all. Is this not the stance you've taken with everybody else from day one?
Refering to the "actions without proof" of course.
-
Without looking at the rankings, which of these two scores is done by 'Dejo's daughter' ?
Irrelevant. Prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're done by the same person or are using shared hardware.
-
This might be one of the most ridiculous things I've seen HWBot do in my time here.
Its 2 different people, with separate hardware, on the same team, end of story. They're playing by the rules in place, and to try and separate her from the team based someone else's perceived idea of possible hardware sharing is absurd.
This. ^^^
You've always stated that HWBot will take no action without undeniable proof......well, show the proof that they're sharing, or have intent to share.
-
That would be Crucial PC133. Micron chips.
-
There are already plenty of hwbot submissions that are not 100% correct that are being given rewards (just browse the databse and you will see it yourself) It is not what I desire, but it is the reality that we have to deal with.
What I proposed is just one way of handling all those faulty submissions.
I HAVE seen it for myself. I report a few every day. Unfortunately, trying to get them fixed takes an act of congress, because everybody has an excuse. Rewarding faulty submissions is not the cure, it's welfare, and will stop nothing.
-
Instead of thinking "all or nothing" regarding benchmark scores that are not 100% correctly validated I think it would make more sense to add a 20-30% point penalty to such scores of they don't seem to be suspiciously high. That way those scores could still remain in the database and be awarded some points, but the incentive to always submit correctly validated scores would still remain more or less the same, even in relation to future rule changes. :-)
Ridiculous. You want to reward entries with errors now? Bring it on. I can make a lot of mistakes.
-
You're comparing apples to oranges there. A little common sense goes a long way here. Splitting hairs to find loopholes in the rules is a tough road to travel my friend. I'm just sayin'.......
-
those are fast compared to 486 cpus.
Lol. No doubt.
-
I think "ERROR IN COMPUTATION" makes it quite clear. Old or new rules make no difference in this case. ERROR means invalid.
-
You're much more patient than I am. I have a hard time waiting for PIII's to finish.
