  1. As someone who has recently acquired an sr-2 I'd love to have a comp I could put it to use. But I'd also agree that it may be unfair to put it in comps that aren't based around server hw. But for UP platforms on 1366 or on 775 it'd be nice to use xeons. The top end xeons are currently cheaper than the top end desktop parts which kinda gives up the argument on older platforms that it's to keep enterprise out of consumer competitions. Even on x79 it makes sense to allow xeons IMHO as they are a popular 8c budget cpu now and it doesn't really hurt participation. I know for team comp when we had a call for people over at r/overclocking we had some people come with xeons that we couldn't accommodate other than to encourage them to OC for fun. So I think if xeons started being allowed in comps about the time data centers start upgrading and they become dirt cheap it would allow at least a little more participation in comps.
  2. Bones, I do like your idea but I think it would hurt a lot of the busier benchers. For example I didn't get my Superpi 32m score in until 10 minutes before the end of the comp because I didn't get to running it until 15 minutes before the end of the comp. I think that something I've heard before that might not be impossible is something like releasing a new cpuz version every week and requiring that your submission date matches the cpuz version or something similar to that. It would require minimal change to the current competition style while also making sandbagging like the kind we've seen, ie. gaining over 500 points the last 24 hours, significantly harder. At that point if a team managed such a sandbag it would be an accomplishment more than anything. Just my $.02 as someone who was legitimately benching to the wire.
  3. Very happy with the results for a cheap board
  4. I set the Xmp for 2400,and set cr 1t. 2600 Xmp wouldn't train even though it worked 20 min before for vantage, pretty sure the psc warmed up.
  5. Also didn't have time to figure out why xp kept bsod when installing with cpu stock
  6. Ran this 15 min before comp end, probably could've tweaked mem a lot more with more time
  7. My mistake, trying to bench too much stuff last week of the comp I promise the score is legit, but if you need to websmile you can take it down
  8. Hey, I know I messed up the validation on this one but I don't actually have the laptop anymore to rerun and I promise that I didn't modify the file in any way. Can you verify it or take it down? yosarianilives`s Cinebench - R11.5 score: 4.71 points with a Core i7 2760QM

  9. I recently got a really great deal on an Evga SR-2, however I only have 1 phase change right now and I'd like to look at getting a second one for some good 2p 1366 scores.
  10. Hey, if you're still selling this I'd be interested. I'm in the US but willing to consider shipping.
  11. So then the i7 7740x is okay, even though it's on a hedt platform since it only has 4 physical cores?
  12. Lol, forgot to turn my fans on the rad on so this was basically passive.
  13. It says am2 cpu, does that mean a cpu that's specifically meant for am2 socket or just using the am2 socket? Cause there are am2 athlon 64s that will also run in an am2+ board just fine, and there are am2+ or am3 phenom II that run in an am2 socket just fine.
  14. HWbot wouldn't allow me to add pictures of the system so here they are. http://imgur.com/a/FfJ9i
  15. I see you delidded, is the IHS soldered on or does it use a thermal compound between the die and IHS?
