  1. You wont be satisfied with these products.

They are cheap , but very low quality.

It would be better to consider other options.

Look for hard plastic cpu trays and ram trays with more height to fit ram modules with heatsinks

    Any suggestions?

I didn't know where to look so I had a quick look on ebay and couldn't see much difference between the options available.

  2. Haven't really got back into it yet so my opinion shouldn't be worth a massive amount, but I noticed that my ranking in all of the leagues etc went down, but my points went up, so it makes me think you may be diluting what a point is actually worth as more people just have more points?

Haven't done any proper looking into it but that was my first instinct when I saw the page.

  3. Hi,

As above, I've just found a couple of old AGP cards (that I assume still work!) and I've realised it might be fun to have a play with them so I was wondering if anyone had an old board with an AGP slot? Don't even know which board/socket would be best but I'm open to offers :)

    Thanks,

    George

  4. Hi,

So as above, I'm moving soon and there should be enough room in the new house to have a benching setup again so I'm thinking of trying to get back into it so I'm on the lookout for some s775 stuff to get me going :)

I should have a working i45 and some DDR2, so I guess mainly looking for a variety of chips along with other bits and bobs to get a complete setup going :)

  5. Hi,

As above, thought I'd try to get back into benching a bit just by submitting some scores of my laptop, which has a Nvidia Optimus chip, which switches (in theory) between the HD 4000 and 660M, however I came to the realisation that it wasn't switching when running AQ3, Catzilla or Unigine (won't run Unigine basic at all which I assume is a whole different story) and was just running them using the HD4000, anyone have any experience with this?

From a google it seems certain things can't use the optimus, are benchmarks some examples of software that don't trigger the switch? I can turn off the nvidia gpu in the bios but not the intel.

Any ideas would be appreciated :)

  6. Of course low cost, yeah.

But D9s go quite further. My kit is able to do over 630 cas4 and 680 cas5 benchable, on air! (but suicide mod, still alive lol)

I guess I can always get nicer RAM in the future if I find my current RAM limits me.

At the moment I don't even know how much I'll get back 'into it'.

    Thanks!

Well, what I meant to say, 550 MHz CL4 is average, they'll probably do 650 MHz CL5 which should be enough to max out most CPUs and have some fun.

Fair enough, I didn't know that, but as you say, that should be enough, at least for now.

You can look at some of the results I've done in the past to get an idea of what I'll be doing :P

RAM is something I can buy in the future if I want to upgrade it, but since I've got stuff that works now, and should let me get back into overclocking I'm happy using it :)

  7. Hye. Small SSD will be good.

But OCZ flex aren't a good way to play imho :/ Better try to find good Crucial kits with D9gmh ICs. Or better go for DDR3 and Rampage Extreme!!

I've already got them, I'm assuming they should be ok to 600+

I know they can do 550 CAS4 which I would assume would be fine for anything I could manage using just a single stage?

The reason for looking at s775 is because of the low cost since I already own most of the things I'd need :P

  8. Realised I may also need a HDD of some sort for my OS as well, may have an IDE 160gb HDD but not sure if it works, so thought maybe a small SSD (60gb?) might be a good idea?

  9. Hey,

As above, I'm considering dipping my toe back into overclocking, so I thought I'd start with something I have a bit of experience with, and already have some hardware for so it won't cost me too much!

Looking for some s775 chips to play around with using an SS. They'll be used with a Biostar i45 and OCZ Flex DDR2 (if that makes any difference)

    I'm based in the UK.

    Thanks :)
