Congratulations to everyone
The 730 appealed to me but having to fork out £150+ for the cpu meant it was a no-go for me.
(also the need for a gigabyte board but never mind that
)

With all respect, this is completely wrong.
It is your responsibility to watch your results, and if you have a black screen or the picture is rendered in a way that it is not visible anymore, this is part of rules of all 3d mark and catzilla benches for example that this is an invalid result. It is also your responsibility to check the plausibility of a result, and if you do not bother to check for example catzilla 730GT scores and ask yourself why you have higher raymarch, fur or whatever on your result than people with cpu and card on LN2 and hundreds of MHz more on both it is not the staff that has to take responsibility for this, but you.
The issue isn't with the extreme results though, yeah it's up to a bencher to check their scores against others, and if they see they're beating people with far higher clocks etc, then something might be up. That's not the issue though, it's the small gaps, where there might be some artifacting but nothing crazy, and so your score is slightly better than someone at the same clocks as you, who are you to know (especially as a novice in 3D) that your score is bugged rather than you happened to find a good series of settings etc that got you that extra 1%?
I completely agree with you on the big stuff, but it's the rest I'm concerned about.
-
Some nice results, reckon there's much more in it?
-
I think the issue here is for those who aren't aware of things in advance, they might try their hardest, maybe use up their DI/LN2, and end up with a bugged run that they simply thought was a good run, since as you said artifacts are a thing in 3D.
If there are known bugs they should be disclosed in advance in my opinion.

Covering result image? Thought that was illegal?
It's an old score, before that rule was introduced I believe

Efficiency doesn't matter quite so much when you're already winning!
Nice looking setup.

Impressive work!
Always nice to see both cpu and gpu cold

bunnyextraction thats an awesome price on the Voltcraft, I dont think they'd ship to Australia. @RULE how much do you want for yours, I could always do with a backup.
I know! That's why I'm still tempted (despite being told I should just save and get a fluke
) also the apparently slow refresh rate of the voltcraft.
If I can't get a fluke for a half decent price then I'll definitely end up getting one.
-
So I've been partially convinced that maybe going higher is worth it, anyone got a spare fluke?
-
Looks like fun, hope you manage some more next time!
-
Yeah I think Websmile said it was a mistake and would be changed.
-
looks good to me, those percentages equal 100% and the total votes equals 192 which it says, whats wrong?
The size of the bars I assume since they don't seem to match the numbers.

Where can I get a Geforce Christmas jumper!
Looks like a fun event!

Changed it. I am in EU.
What about 50 with shipping included?
Too pricey for me as I can get it new for less I'm afraid!

As Rule said to me, I'll probably just buy one new, just thought I'd check to see what's available.
-
Awesome score, looking forward to what else you can get done with that setup!
-
Hi,
you're looking for two channel thermometer only? Have a Voltcraft K101 i don't use.
I'd be interested, but if you're in the US then I think shipping would make it too expensive, what would you be looking for?
-
which thermometer do you have, it could be just the probes.
these are the probes I bought to use with oc panel and they work down to full pot, but they are expensive.
I also have the ones from ek and sf3d and they work to full pot. Also the ones on kpc store work full pot.
not sure about thermometers though, in almost 4 years I have only used oc panel, it might be slow compared to a fluke but it works fine with full pot temps and never had trouble with it. It allows me to put a number on my cold bug, keep within a range under load and does the job
It's a pretty cheap thermometer, not sure where I got it from actually.
If there was a Kingpingcooling shop in the UK I'd be tempted, but once you add shipping the probes from him are pretty pricey as well
-
Hi,
As above, looking to get some decent probes and a thermometer.
The current probes/thermometer I've got seem to tap out at around -172-4ish.
Been looking at the Voltcraft k102, anyone got anything?
Thanks (I'm based in the UK)
Edit:
Now maybe tempted by a fluke...
-
It'll most likely be a bug, you shouldn't edit screenshots.
-
Haha, so now I need to see if there are any cheap high refresh rate monitors out there!
-
Didn't know this (never really dabbled much in 3D), crazy this works, is it just 03? (can anyone actually confirm it works)
-
No rig pics?
Epic score regardless!
-
Bet you're glad that's over!
