Well, nf4 itself shouldn't affect dimm slots as imc is built in cpu. I would probably start with cpu socket first (either new replacement or reballing).
Good point. There are those socket testers with LED, maybe it will show the broken connections.

Hi,
I have DFI Lanparty NF4 with 2 ram slots non working. I saw also the other one for sale with the same issue. I'm wondering if anybody got the same issue and I'm thinking about possible repair. There are new NF4 chipsets on aliexpress for about 5$. There is also option to unsolder the chipset from other working board and solder it to DFI. Any input will be much appreciated. Those boards are getting harder and harder to get.

This HyperX stick is not a BH-5 for sure You can recognize it by the sticker.

Ok, I finally managed to get it working. Here is the working solution for Promise PDC20376 controller. I used 60GB Kingston SSDNow 300 SSD.
1. Connect the drive to the SATA port, double check the connection, because SATA connector on board is loose (!), not permamently attached.
2. Press Ctrl-F during boot and create 1 drive RAID array.
3. Integrate Promise PDC20376 / FastTrak 376 driver to Windows XP using nLite.
4. Create USB stick with Windows XP install using WinToFlash Lite.
5. Boot from USB choose 1st option (1st, text mode setup), in my case copying files took about 3 hours from USB stick.
6. After reboot choose other option (2nd, GUI mode setup), choosing first one again will result in error.
7. Be happy from your working Windows XP installation.

Update the sillicon image Sil3112 to 4.4.02 (last available version). I've used it successfully many times on AN7 and always use USB flash drive as an install media.
Some boards can't boot from USB though and need some sort of a boot manager mod (I've recently replaced LAN option rom with plop manager on NF7-S).
You can update the bios by simply replacing existing RAID rom with the updated version using cbrom.
Chaintech and Soltek boards use Promise PDC20376 controller, some versions of those boards doesn't have SATA controller at all.

Recently I've bought a few nForce 2 boards for 462 socket (Chaintech 7NJS and three Soltek 75FRN2 boards, some with SATA ports, some with IDE only). I wanted to install Win XP on 7NJS today and I failed hard doing this... I cannot get it working on SATA SSD... after few attemps I found out, that I have to create a RAID array with only 1 drive (FastTrak 376 controller, weirdest thing ever). Ok, now installer sees the drive (with controller drivers added using nLite), but after maybe 2-3 hours copying files during Win XP install, the whole installation is corrupted... I'm using an USB stick with XP.
Is there any confirmed and easy way to install XP on nForce 2 board, preferably on SSD? Maybe sort of IDE->SATA adapter. Looks like IDE is the way to go if you don't want to prepare million of CDs with XP installs. USB install doesn't seem to be working good too, I'm not sure if Soltek's board use it, on Chaintech it works. There are also IDE SSD drives on the market, but I'm not going to spend another ~50 euro on such drive only for testing purposes.
Thanks,
Bartek

Foxconn BlackOps - sold

Kingston 2133C8 Kit1 - sold
I tested Firestix once again on X48-DQ6 and they turned out to be really strong -1200MHz 4-4-4-4 @ 2,65V with tight subtimings.
20 euro + shipping
I added another kit - Goodram Pro 2x512MB 900MHz @ D9GKX
They're a little worse, almost pass SPI 32M 1200 4-4-4-12 @ 2,72V. Maybe they need some more voltage or cooling (one stick was naked, cooled only by airflow)
15 euro + shipping

For daily you could use chiller if you really have to, it will provide you a nice 15-20C temp improvement. You can set water temp to 7-10C depends on humidity (condensation), it will be still cooler than 25-30C liquid in the standard loop. Of course you can go lower with the temp, but that's safe temperature in my opinion without insulation the tubes and whole loop.

I can deliver you the most difficult parts, assembled and ready for installation (evap, suction line, mounting kits) and provide some guidance about the rest of the parts which will be needed.
The work which you need to do:
- mount all the parts on the base plate, make some electric connections
- bend a few copper pipes
- braze the pipes, the most difficult part is to braze pipes to the compressor, you'll need quite powerful torch to make it properly
- charge the unit with gas and tune it for the load, to be honest it's good to have a load tester, but it can be made from cartridge heaters for the cheap + copper part, which I can also prepare
