  1. Nope. Don't want to lose "on the edge" scores trying to add ancillary manufacturer info. Of course more info is good, but I like where the lines are already drawn.
  2. Thx guys. Dunno. Might have more core AND uncore speed. Wanted to just get a run in before leaving town. Will be able to tighten timings some if I'm truly limited to this cpu speed.
  3. You shouldn't find that strange at all. Complainers are highly visible and motivated. Even if they represent a tiny fraction of users as a whole. Again, I vote to leave everything as it is. One league. Free-for-all benching where everyone competes against everyone. "Fair" or not, it's the most fun. But I'm just ONE guy here for the good times.
  4. Sorry guys, but option 6 was the only viable option for me (though I don't agree with it either). You're using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut with these changes. Sure, you'll get the meat out. But it will be all squished and un-appetizing. These revisions take the fun out of the team game. Pure and simple. We bench hard for points. Globals. Hardware. Team points. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, is going to appreciate the watering down or elimination of the significance of their efforts. Right now the bot is a worldwide free-for-all where you can compete for individual glory AND band together for some tribal glory. It's fun. Some of the awesome teams we've been chasing that are filled with armies of "little guys" are gonna be crushed by these revisions. That's sad. Sure, hardware sharing sucks. But making the whole game less fun for the vast majority of participants sucks more.
  5. Thx for the kind words guys. And for the tip tiborrr. I'll change RAM and revisit another day.
  6. Actually read all 32 pages before posting. Whew. Please don't replace "BOT" with "OVERCLOCKING" in my following words. They are distinct. 1) Please stop saying that people should be benching for fun and not points. All of us do. But we SUBMIT OUR EFFORTS TO THE BOT FOR THE POINTS AND THE COMPETITIVE SPIRIT. Benching and friendships will still happen with or without the bot. 2) I see why the single team score for a bench will decrease hardware sharing (or at least the significance of it), but it will be at the price of decreasing team significance AT THE BOT. If that's what the bot wants, then so be it. What the bot does won't impact my relationship with an awesome group of folks I call my team. 3) I suck at overclocking. But I like trying. And I like freezing stuff. And I like soldering stuff. But I don't want to do any hardware reviews or schmooz manufacturers. I'll continue to buy my own hardware to kill as I wish. But I do like trying to beat the top guys. It's fun. While I once was bothered by "manufacturer support", lately I don't really care. Makes it more fun to try and beat people. But I DON'T like the idea of being "delegated" to the minors.
  7. K404, I think things should stay the same for a different reason. The large point differential in 1st, 2nd and 3rd helps make me try harder. It is part of what stimulates that extra effort you mention. I think spreading the points out more will detract from the "close but no cigar" feeling. It feels great to see someone get very very close to your gold, but fall short. It also makes me seriously respect scores I try and try to beat, but just can't. The big point gaps make it just a little bit more fun.
