During my short PSC experience with MPower I learned one thing - after each hard crash it's best to fully reflash the BIOS otherwise board starts spitting '55' out on random. Other than that, the experience was exactly the same as, say, on ASUS.
By the way, there is no such thing as new stepping. E1/L1 is just the way new CPU-Z (from 1.64 up, I reckon) detects IB chips.
Thanks for the advice Sam, will keep this in mind as 2600 seems pretty hard to even boot whether I am on 1:13 or 1:9.
2500 c7 twcl7 seems pretty doable, trying twcl 6

What batch?
3251B377, newest Costa batch I have seen so far.
-
So no more BIOS problem for CPU ratio on E1/L1?
No more problems, it was a user issue:p
-
Then I guess the chip itself is dead
Awww good news, I thought there might have been really something wrong:p
Thanks for the help Christian, guess I can stop wasting time trying to fix it and actually figure out how to make PSC run on this beast!
The new E1/L1 seems to like low volts so should be good on cold as 2 out of 3 are doing 5Ghz 32M <1.32v

Tried it and it now just reboots when trying to enter the bios on B.
I am also updating ME if that matters.
edit: Just tried it with no ME update and still just reboots.

New Stepping? I wasn't aware of this..
Did the 'S-SPEC' change? (the Sxxxx code)
CPUZ lists E1/L1 under Revision, still stepping 9 will post a screen in a bit.
The first two seem good 4c 4t 1.3-1.32 5Ghz 32M

it is not reset bios
it is direct BIOS boot
bios reset is jbat1 just below the battery
Direct BIOS boot button just does not work, will change power options to Custom, as I have been disabling it.
Thanks zzolio, will post back shortly.
It was power options set to Custom indeed, everything working fine now.

Does not work, in fact it does nothing at all when pressed.
-
hmm where is this on the board, black button next to the bios switch that says SW1?

^Awesome George, glad to see you posting:)

Removing ssd and swapping memory on second bios chip (B) results in a hang after pressing delete to enter UEFI.
Btw bclk changes no problem, multi is just not setting on bios A with the beta you linked.
-
2400 c8 RipjawZ PSC, first bios boots in, second is hanging on Entering Setup. CMOS flash both times and it is still hanging.
Weird.
-
you tried the other Bios chip ? seems one bios is corrupt
The other bios chip hangs on Entering Setup:(
So much fail tonight lol

Wow nothing with 82, about to try 81 I am about to throw this turd in the Asrock and see what happens, as my friend that is binning the other chips say they work fine on the MVG.
-
I got a few betas here Loud (H82 dates from end of march), but can't test it with 3570K...
H81 beta here : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66364457/MSI/MPOWER/E7751IMS.H81.rar
H82 beta here : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66364457/MSI/MPOWER/E7751IMS.H82.rar
Was mainly to improve RAM compatibility, too bad Samsung support went downhill... always flash with ME included !
You are a lifesaver, testing now:)

If all else fails, use 17.6.
link to try?
http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z77-MPOWER.html#/?div=BIOS
I assume you mean this 17.6?
-
Thought I would ask here as well as the Z77 section as this might get a bit more traffic.
I have a few 3570K's that are E1/L1 stepping and none of the current bios's allow the multi to change, anyone have a beta bios that might work with these?
-
So I grabbed a few 3570K's and all of them show up as E1/L1 stepping under cpuz 1.64
The MPower will not allow me to change multi, the latest bios I have is E7751IMS v17.7, anyone have a newer bios that will allow the multi to change?

very nice run, twcl 6?

wow, very nice run guys, twcl 6?

You in for Class B?
Seems like there are quite some people interested in Class B. Good news! If Class B proves to be more popular than Class A, we have a solid foundation to prove to MSI management that low(er) cost qualifications are a good thing
.
Thinking about it:)

I am starting to think this board is a bit gimped, I can not raise bclk past 104.2 anything above that and it fails to boot regardless of memory timings. Need to get this figured out as no chance of going cold without > 105 bclk.
