SF3D OC Inflection point - It is alive finally!
SF3D replied to SF3D's topic in Extreme overclocking
Haha..I have sense of humor and I really like to read these comments more thant the brown nose ones. I think there is somehthin wrong with the product if there is only "wow" comments visible In competitions I have always something which does not allow me to win. It is never me, but the hardware. I would win easily, but hardware prevents it. -

SF3D OC Inflection point - It is alive finally!
SF3D replied to SF3D's topic in Extreme overclocking
New videos showing AMD Phenom II X4 970 BE + Inflection point in action. Part 1: Vantage CPU test + Wprime 1024M (Video is speeded up in some parts, so it would not be SO boring) Part 2: 3DM05 at high voltage (1.96V): (Video is speeded up in some parts, so it would not be SO boring) Once again there was no issues to handle load from CPU. If you feel really lazy and you have cold bugless CPU, try this. No need to stretch your arms too much..once in a 2 minutes is ok -
Is this a world record? haha.. try 01!

Saw this yesterday: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7216251/?ref=nf Who made that? This conversations sounds quite funny from them.

You should read more carefully. This Team suggestion is indeed still suggestion. Nothing have been written on stone yet. I personally would like to see power teams and current team ranking. Current ranking is ok and new power team could be for some very powerfull groups. We don't have that kind of group in Finland, but in other countries that is not issue. Please do not give me lectures about how teams are. Computer teams are way different than companies or army batallions. Look what kenny wrote in his last post. That is what you need to think. johnksss @ say-it-loud.com - This is not correct thread to talk about your scores because they don't have anything to do with rev. 4. Scores are deleted, cause you made bugged runs. You submitted them in to HWbot and it is not allowed with unigine engine based benchmarks. It is very simple and you already got the explanation in the blocking message. If you need to know more, send PM.

We were thinking Champions league and masters league first, but for me that champion word is just so "pink". I don't know where that is coming from, but the song "we are the champions, we are ... " does not help it. Fighting is aggressive act and that word does not mean, that it is always violent act between some people or peoples. It can mean whatever you like. I fight for love etc.. We also like to make connection to the UFC which is one of the hardest fighting leagues in the world. That is their sport, this is ours. If some users feel, that playing in the top is not hard, then they just have not tried it. If it doesn't make sense I am fine with it.

I think people should read this post from Frederik with a thought. Thanks for posting this!

Hey, this is overclocking and HWbot teams does not work like that I would not have made this statement in army or would not say this in my own company I think that we need 2 Team leagues. This we have at the moment is for masses and new team league for Power teams where only the best score counts. I would put more weight on power teams as it requires a lot more to get in to top on that one than in these current ones. If someone is interested, check Team Finland point structure and team in general. Our situation is hopeless in here

Nothing have been written in to stone yet. That was the reason Massman put this up. We would like to hear opinions about Rev.4. Too bad, that there is only certain groups giving input. If all people would share ideas now, it would be a lot easier too see flaws.

bazx- I have seen how your team works. I give credit from it to your team members. Barisan- Nothing is forcing you to stay in ambient cooling. If you use other methods, you can go to XOL and have fun like so far. We are not going to choose people or try to force them to be in some league. Manufacturers are asked to focus on UFL. They should not mess up the XOL. User reports will come to us really fast, if something suspicious appears. So, there is not that much change in the end. Basically we give everyone a better chance to show their abilities. If you are using aircooled setups it is impossible to compete against dry ice or ln2. Now you can compete with other users with same cooling methods. Actually revision3 was huge change for HWbot. WR points and single GPU weighting made dramatic changes. This seems to be a bit more dramatic, but not too much in my opinion.

I find it this way. Team is as strong as it's best players. So, in this new plan only the best scores will get points and rest will go to user account only. This way only the teams with strong players will be on top. I find this fair solution, cause you can find strong players from every country. I think UFL users should affect Team rankings, so the playground is quite fair. I don't like the current situation where you can push with the mass. If some team have some good setup, it can be "sold" around and team will earn huge amount of points. That is irritating our users and leading in to constant reports about hardware sharing. So, I still think the new version of team rankings is good. Now the good teams can show their talent and the teams with mass power will not be on the top. It was the same with hardware points before. When it was not limited in overclockers league, some user with 2000 hardware points were in the lead without any overclocking involved. I hope you can rethink this, so I don't have to fly in to UK. I don't mean, that I wouldn't like to come haha!

Valid points Kenny and bazx. I need to reply to this. Rev4 is end product of our constand development. I feel bad to watch when some people think that Pieter is just greedy and alone behind all these changes. It is not like that at all. Manufacturers should take part in to funding this site, cause they use this site for their marketing anyway. If we let them do that without any fee, we would be just bunch of fools. I am tightly connected to HWbot and I have large part on this new revision. The UFL is made to make community happy. I personally have been feeling a bit bad sometimes, when you push your hardware to limit, someone hit it down with some comment about ES samples etc. It is not any less valuable result, if it is done with some non retail parts, but of course it will annoy some users. So, there is a solution for this and it is UFL. There all manufacturer puppets can figth between each other and they does not mess the XOL league at all. That way normal users does not have to directly compete with Hicookie or Nickshih, but they can compete in their own league. In every league the level of support and hardware should be quite equal. We can never find 100% balance in to these, but we need to have some faith. All these changes are end results of very long conversations and development. These all are made to change this hobby in to right direction and I really think this is the step, which is needed. Please, no more personal attacks to Massman, cause he is indeed working for this site, but he is not behind all "evil" If you guys can do correct critisism and ideas, we can take them in to account. If this conversations turns to be BS all the time, no ideas can be takend from it. So, think before you post and try to see larger picture! Thanks!

Would you really like to pay for the use of this site? If that is the case, we should consider that as a one option. The idea have been opposite from the beginning. Users should not be the ones who pay the costs of running this site. And there is 26 000 + users and maybe 1000 would pay and rest would not. People like it, when you get it free. No matter what it is.. So..there is a problem but it might not be easy to solve without manufacturers as a sponsors.

Guys, calm down a bit! Don't take it that personal level in here. Thanks!

Easy method to predict OC capabilities in current Nvidia GPU's
SF3D replied to SF3D's topic in General hardware discussion
Nice. Waiting to see some tests from you guys. Boris- Yes. 2 different cards with different P0 VID. Other is bad and other is ok reference. -
Hi all! I have been testing several GTX 480 reference cards on aircooling and LN2. I usually always test cards on aircooling and then on LN2. This time I found something new on Nvidia cards. On current generation cards you can easily see the P0 performance level voltage. Just open the Nvidia inspector and open the overclocking page. On the slider on right you can see P0 performance level voltage. If it does not work you can check it with multimeter in 3D load etc. P0 is very interesting value, cause it will tell us few important things. Lower voltage means directly lower leakage, cause signal can be delivered inside GPU with less energy. Higher P0 voltage will mean that the core need more voltage for same data output, so more energy is lost and more unnecessary heat generated. GPU's with low P0 value will work cooler and what I have been told from my sources, there is higher thermal shutdown treshold on these GPU's as well. So, if you need to pick some GPU for testing, try to find low P0 ones. This is nothing that new for most of us, but now it is easy to see and predict how your card will overclock. There is easy way to compare GPU's and it is fixed voltage. If you use for example 1.07V voltage and 100% fan speed max overclock is correlating with P0 value in most cases. :welcome: Now I would need to ask you guys put some input on this thread: Reference GTX 480 designs use 1.07V and 100% fan speed. Then try to run 3Dmark vantage and report the OC results here. What I have seen in my own tests: P0=1.063V / MAX OC on air = 775MHz in 3DMark Vantage P0=0.985V / MAX OC on air = 900MHz in 3DMark Vantage P0=1.063V / MAX OC on LN2 = 1100MHz in 3DMark Vantage P0=0.985V / MAX OC on LN2 = 1300MHz in 3DMark Vantage This thread is here to help you pick up the best cores for air, h2o and LN2 overclocking. I hope at least few will bother to run few tests and let us all know the data. This is confirmed information already from my sources, so there is no need to try to argue  P.S This prediction method is proven to work on GTX 460/470/480 cards. It should work same way in all GPU's which have P0 3D VID values + powerstates.

SF3D OC Inflection point - It is alive finally!
SF3D replied to SF3D's topic in Extreme overclocking
My time on MSI MOA 2010 Finals proved some of my thoughts about good LN2 cooling product. Superior power handling, response time, compatibility and one of the most important ones, price of the unit. 1st, 3rd, and 6th team used Inflection point during the competition. We are now rocking with this product, so order yours and step in to the future. -
Thanks guys!

Did one run on LN2.. then one card gave issues and all went wrong. New try later today! I like this setup!

Hehe..it was done with 955 HL sample in June 2009 That's why. With current CPU's 115K should be doable.
