Not sure if this will help you but I also tested E5 2699 V3 ES on Gigabyte X99 Champ and it works just fine

All x99 chips should fit on an Asus boards or any other boards as long as it's a socket 2011-3 and of course BIOS needs to support Xeon procs, so you might want to check their CPU support list.
