X5667 improperly categorized as a hex
miahallen replied to miahallen's topic in Submission & member moderation
Thanks MM :toast: But it looks like my submissions from yesterday got lost in the shuffle: http://hwbot.org/community/submission/974667_miahallen_wprime_1024m_xeon_x5667_2min_15sec_0ms http://hwbot.org/community/submission/974666_miahallen_wprime_32m_xeon_x5667_4sec_266ms Maybe more time is needed for the bot to fix the submissions? -

RB or MM...any chance we can get this fixed? -
http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/xeon_x5667 Results are being catagorized as 6 core, but it's a quad core chip.

How many members here do not belong to a team? Is there a way to see them listed?

thanks RB

Hey guys...I'm interested in "user created competitions". How does that work? I'm also interested in the capability for teams to have their own internal competitions hosted by HCE. Is that possible? Thanks

LGA1156 Clarkdale COLDBUG modifications!!
miahallen replied to Massman's topic in Extreme overclocking
Removing the resistor cause the system to fail to post... so I tried shorting the contacts with a proper solder job...and it worked Quick assesment shows new CBB at -145C and CB at -170C (or so ) -

Well...I tried shorting the resistor...but CB didn't change -

Didn't work on my P55A-UD3R Massman...I tried taping the pin but the system failed to post...just power cycle over and over. Removed the tape and it posted just fine I'll try removing the resistor... -

Doesn't have to be ...GF4 PCX 4300 was an MX 4000 with an AGP->PCIe bridge...not that it'd be competitive or anything -
Hum...I'll play with it

Very true kb...hmmmm

Doubt it...his SPI SS was captured just fine at 5.4GHz

Have you guys ever witnessed a bug in wPrime? I only ask because I was working out my eff in wPrime 32M when I noticed that in order to match Hicookie's result on the i5 750, I would need 100MHz more than what he ran at. So I compared the other top 10 results, and his is the only one way out of line: The #s on the graph represent the difference in (hundredths of a second) between the actual time posted, and the theoretical time based on the average eff. For reference see columns D & F. average eff = 30484.59 divided by Hicookie's time of 5.74s = 5311MHz...110MHz higher than what he was running. I'm not posting this to question Hicookie's score (the theoretical score wouldn't change the ranking anyway), but to question the accuracy of wPrime as a reliable bench. I have also seen in my own testing where errors occurred during wPrime calculation, and yet it still completed the bench as if nothing was wrong. Those scores were questionable in my mind (and they were never my best)...but I wonder if we need a fixed version of wPrime that keeps better track of bugs. edit - in the calculation above, I omitted Hicookie's result from the calculation of avg eff to avoid throwing off the avg with a score that was possibly inaccurate.

You guys require all sorts of things in screenshots...why not the require the device manager showing all HDDs installed. It shouldn't be too hard to differentiate the performance between two magnetic HDDs in a RAID0 and a SW RAM-drive I didn't say it sounds hard, I said it sounds stupid...as in ridiculous
-
Humm....sounds pretty stupid I'll see what I can do.

I've never benched PCMark before...but I just got ahold of a couple Intel SSDs...only to find out that my result is no good because my XP Startup is at about 270MB/s...how do I "slow it down" to meet the requirement? BTW - my personal feeling on this is to not set a MB/s limit, but to set a HW limit, as in: "Only magnetic HDDs allowed, maximum of 2 drives in the array" This would get the benchmark back on track with OCing being the focus, instead of all this crazyness about building the biggest fastest (and most expensive) storage sub-system. The whole reason I never really benched PCMark before was because I didn't feel competative due to a lack of funds. If I could take my cheap magnetic HDDs and overclock them to be competative, I would've done it a long time ago...isn't this all supposed to be about overclocking?
