Just a question to AMD users who isn`t possible to start with new GPU`s. Have you tried to enable 4G encording? I`m playing at the moment with 4090 and have enabled resize bar. Without entrering 4gb encoridng it wasn`t possible to start system

It can be so much what goes wrong. Maybe it’s your PSU or Mem settings are not 100% perfect for your setup. I’ve never had this problem that postcode led was off. Only if CPU was in CBB, but I think you are at the moment on Air.

For new CPU’s set SA to 1.25v, more isn’t necessary. DRAM VDD settings are the best for me at the moment 1.25/1.40 for a-die and m-die

You can still use your GPU on z690 without issues with F6 bios until problem with x-bios is solved ? I can’t see any XOC scores from you, so why you use X-Bios?

2:30 AM in Germany ?I couldn’t find my 7970 but 290x. Have tested it on z690 with X4b and x3k with 12900k and 13900k, don’t works but it works on z790. I know this GPU was working on z690 before, have to check which bios I’ve used for it

@BOBKOC have you tested this GPU with older X-Bios versions? Does it work? Have you load defaults before you have changed GPU and removed power from Board? I can`t test this GPU becaus I don`t have it. If you still with 12th gen CPU and GPU works with older bios versions, I would stay with it ;). I should have one 7970 GPU here, can try it also with my Z690 board.

KS wasn’t important for me because 13gen can do higher clocks and Mem frequency, this is why I don’t tested it before. Only 12gen with AVX512, this is why I’ve changed microcode in Bios and replaced one of them.

Flash same bios like your first one to b-bios, save you profiles from main bios to usb und upload it to backup bios. It should works without any problems. After it you can try main bios Chip, but I’m not sure if it will works better. how is the position of your bios switches? Have you selected single bios or dual bios?

You know LIMP button? If something don`t work, press LIMP button and you should be able to start with default settings without cmos I haven`t tested this bios with KS, only a few times with 13900k/kf and 12900k. you can try my profiles, they are here in thread but I`ll upload it also on the first page. with 12900k I was able to start 7200 without any problems my m-die profile, for A-Die it was 7600

Can you go into the bios with another bios versions? If yes, load defaults, restart and flash x4b Bios after it from Bios directly. My KS is now in my 24systen, is a little bit difficult to test it ?

That was just surprising why it went to Z790 and not on Z690, I like to check that myself;). And after the graphics card came today, it was a good opportunity. I use the same BIOS that is in the first post, as soon as Z790 thread is finished, it will also be uploaded there;)

Just for Info! If someone flash X4b bios with 12xxx CPU after flashing, load bios defaults, only after it you shold change CPU. Don`t switch CPU directly after flashing and press cmos!! System will hangs and can`t start. After you have started it first time, you can of course press cmos button. For all who want to test A-Die on Z690, here is my 8200 start profile: Z690 + 13900k A-Die profile Please check voltage section for Mem!!! My green a-die need high voltage to work, in my profile it set to 1,65v!!!

I think it’s not necessary because same Bios with AVX512 microcode on z690

Not sure if it’s only on z690 different to z790 but on z790 SLI is activated for GTX590

Flash latest official bios via q-flash, after it flash x4b via bios. ps: which cpu do you use? Mems? I haven’t tested it now with 12600/12700 or 13600 CPU’s but 12900k/13700k/13900kf/13900k are fine.

Please select in Bios AVX drop 0 and AVX512 drop to 1 and you can change everything in OS. It`s not necessary to do more. If you still have problems with drop, please let me know.

Let me test it on Air with 13th gen. Not tested before. If it doesn’t works fine with multiplier maybe I have another solution for it ?
