  1. I wonder about the line that comes in every single PR. For some reason, every single company claims to be the world leading in whatever they produce. Not every brand can be leading, so this is nothing more than a lie, right? Or how do the marketing people justify writing this? I mean ... if you start off your message with a big fat lie, how can you expect people to take your message seriously? Example of GTX560 PR: - "Palit Microsystems Ltd, the leading graphics card manufacturer ..." - "Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), the world’s leading motherboard, graphics card, barebone system, and notebook manufacturer ..." - "ZOTAC International, a leading innovator and the world’s largest channel manufacturer of graphics cards, motherboards and mini-PCs ..." - "SPARKLE Computer Co., Ltd., the professional VGA card manufacturer and supplier ..." - "KFA2, the European premium NVIDIA only brand ..." - "As the leading brand in enthusiastic graphics cards, Gainward ..." - "GIGABYTE Technology Co. LTD., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards ..." - "Point of View, the leading European manufacturer of an exclusive range of NVIDIA based 3D processor boards, advanced netbooks as well as fancy 7” and 10” Tegra tablet computers, and additional enthusiast PC products ..."

  8. - yes - system picture (so it shows air / water cooling)
  9. It's now 'fair' too ... the rules apply to everyone. Nice in theory, but how can we do this automatically? We can't define "slow enough" so it applies to all categories.
  10. Technically, you don't need pictures with all your submissions. Just the top-15 global and top-20 hardware. But, Yes. We're trying to figure out a way to work around those issues. Your suggestion is a possible solution.

  14. - We had to find a solution for the user submission page of the really active people. The longer the list, the more processing power it requires to build the list. People like Turrican have problems, then: http://uat.hwbot.org/user/turrican/ - Researching anything now happens through the single search bar in the upper right corner. This one search bar is the combination of all the search bars we now have on the left. - Benchmarks can be viewed from the 'benchmark' tab now, or by clicking through from submission pages. Just asked to include the benchmarks in the search field too. In that case, it would just be a matter of typing 'PCMark7' in the search field and one click to get to the benchmark overview page. Still contemplating on this. Should we include them? And if yes, based on the pro oc points, or based on the same 15gl+20hw like the normal league?

  17. That's probably because your scores don't have system pictures attached. If you move to the Xtreme Overclockers League, you'll have points.
  18. After reading through this thread, I don't think I will -ever- take any advice from you anymore
  19. No, voltage isn't really scaling so well. With 1.6V I get the color screens (temp too high) very quickly. I tested with 1.5V and it was almost ok. Maybe 1.525V will give the best result.
  20. Per application, there can be different global rankings. Each of those rankings can contribute to those top-15 globals. For instance: S1: E8600 Wprime 32M (2x CPU) S2: i7 920 Wprime 32M (4x CPU) S3: i7 980X Wprime 32M (6x CPU) S1, S2 and S3 all receive a global rank. Each of those scores can contribute to your top-15 global for the personal ranking.
  21. Per ranking, only your best score will receive a rank and points. Eg: S1: Aquamark 3, 1x GTX580 = 430k S2: Aquamark 3, 1x HD5870 = 410k S1 will receive: - global rank (1x GPU Aquamark 3) + according global points - hardware rank (1x GTX580 Aquamark 3) + according hardware points S2 will receive: - NO global rank (you already have a better score in 1x GPU Aquamark3) and NO points - hardware ranking (1x HD 5870 Aquamark 3) + according hardware points In practical terms, this means that S1 can contribute to your top-15 global scores and both S1 and S2 can contribute to the top-20 hardware. S2 will not contribute to the global total, because this score doesn't receive a global rank.
  22. For sure. Teams need a solid and widespread foundation. Having dedicated legacy benchers are needed as much as having a few high-end benchers.
