Have you got these yet? I would just use afr presets and tighten from there to c11 to c12

I do believe I checked that but I'm always changing things so maybe not. Have you checked your PM?

Sure does, still hate XTU but damn thats good. When I try it runs for 5 seconds then says there was an error. I should probably look into that

Well said, I practice on Trident 2000c 9 9 9 psc and they are actually really good, better than 2200c7 for me. OCF is easiest and my fav board for cold benching in general. Just starting to play with Impact VI, z97 SOC Force and X Power with cold mems as I feel it is important to learn them all

Gigabyte Z170X-SOC Force - DDR4
GtiJason replied to xxbassplayerxx's topic in Memory Heaven (air/extreme)
Kingston? -
1.97v for 2666c8 is too high in my opinion, but that's using OCF. I never even use over 1.93 on air since it hardly helps anyways. My better than average kits will do 2700-2720 on 1.88v or even 8-11-7 (2666) around same volts.2800c8 is possible on air but has crummy efficiancy . Not all st pcb is bad, but more of a gamble. Right now my best mems are on 8155 G.Skill and 8117 Patriot. The 2 kits of Patriots seem to be CB free but not all imc's like them...maybe because they are 1066 and not 1333mhz oem specced. Also keep in mind kits like 2000c6 may have a hard time w just xmp enabled, but if you are running them that way then they are not for you. JK. As always YMMV

Bullant - DDR3 SDRAM @ 1451MHz - 3762.4 marks MaxxMem

Whoa, I haven't seen this one 2900+ @ c6 and uber tight tertiaries...I like it -
Copy, Read and Write are really just average, but that 25.4 latency is obscene

I got lucky, ordered a kit for a friend overseas and he convinced me to get one as well. He only had one stick capable of 12-19 so had to run 12-20. I was going to sell them but finally found a couple hours to give them a second look and now not so sure. I still have 2 kits 3733 TridentZ to give a thorough try and just got my 3600 White Dragons so something has to go as the winter months are slow for home remodeling projects. Aka my only source of income

Here's mine, set 1.850v BIOS is 1.900v actual on a happier note, both my TridentZ sticks are stable at 4000c12-19-28-1 at 1.880v actual

Lays - Core i7 4790K @ 5201MHz - 1076 cb Cinebench - R15
GtiJason replied to GtiJason's topic in Result Discussions
When I got my 4790k vietnam it would run 5000mhz 4/8 at 1.32v with uber tight mems. After the first run cold it now needs 1.365v, not sure cold caused this but it seems to me that as soon as you need to clean the gold contacts on cpu it needs moar volts -
XTU is all about efficiancy of memory and tight timings, voltage used for core speed, cooling efficiantcy or lack thereof etc. You must be thermal throttling at 99 - 100C so scores will be similar since its running at lower speed, using close to 1.5v to run 4900mhz is not great and the memory timings have serious issues for good xtu or other memory centric tests such as GeekBench 3 and 32m Super Pi. You need to be using PSC based or Samsung based ic'sthat can run tWCL=6 and Dram ref cycle at 112 or less, frankly your secondary and tertiary timings are bad. You should be seeing a lot more 4's and 5's and you only have like two of them that low. You must be using hynix based ic ram and that is only good for max frequency and make sure the dimms are not single sided. Other ic options that can run tight timings are Elpida bdbg, bbse and hyper. Find a way to be effeciant and you will score the same using far less cpu speeds
-
I just quickly chose the nick shih 2933 preset and tightened mostly just the main timings. I set 2.25v cause I knew it would boot and left the rest auto. Those mems can run those timings at lower volts plus setting manually the sa and io volts does help. The pic was supposed to give you a starting point for timings as the rest varies. Oh and here on Earth, we say thank you

Instead of trying something like 9-13-13-17, try 9-12-12 but you may have to raise tRAS up to 21-24 and or tREFI as high as 128. Actually here are perfect settings to start with and tighten from here. Rtl's probably wont get to 41-42 unless u have 2 dimm board or some cold aka -35C

Umm RTL's 35 - 36 and 8-8-6 tertiaries at that speed is just nucking futs, wow all hail the 32m king -
Well the 2666c10 Dom Platts are the best ddr3 money can buy, add in a 2 dimm mem monster board and you've got a recipe for success

http://www.servethehome.com/intel-xeon-e5-2670-v1-prices-still-plummeting/ You can pick one up right now on Ebay for around $130.00, just in the last 10 days prices have dropped close to $100. Just keep in mind there are two major stepping versions to look for: SR0H8 is C1 stepping. VT-x is supported but VT-d is supposedly not supported SR0KX is the C2 stepping with the VT-d fix which may be important for virtualization pass-through

I hated the ek block at first because of how it mounts. I killed my favorite z97 oc formula (got 3) because pot pushed cpu so hard it actually crushed the pins and on that new 4690k that is so nice I got from intel tuning plan. First time going cold it literaly cracked the ihs in a C shape
