  1. Thanks Karl! Well, it seems there is a limit with either the board or the IMC. Boots at 2034MHz, craps out at 2039MHz. On some multipliers BCLK doesn't want to work above one point through GTL anymore This was the last try at home yesterday before the LN2 ran out.
  2. DDR3-4078 on retail chip by Moonman and myself: http://www.ekwb.com/news/390/19/EK-SF3D-gear-DDR3-4078-reached-new-AMD-mounting-available/ Benching at -185°C with our aluminum module adapters (plates) on the memory is a breeze. With copper adapters we can probably go full pull, to ~ -195°C, we will try this today. Moonman: "I booted at DDR3-3960" tiborrr: "Okay, i'll check whether it survives POST" Guy in the background: "No wai bro!"
  3. After testing my memories on the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-OC I came to conclusion that the ASRock board is fine, it's just my memories that are a bit worn out. They do 1200 8-12-8-28 but not a megahertz more. The booting issue is caused by the weak PCB. They boot 1.86-1.9V initially but fail to do so after a couple of minutes. These are low bin PSC (DDR3-1600 C6). The G.Skill Ripjaws 2300 C7 didn't have this problems. All well in the ASRock (and Gigabyte) land
  4. Was playing with my Z87M OC Formula tonight and my -100°C cascade. Could run Pi1M @ 6050MHz, valid up to 6.15GHz. Hell I can do Wprime at 5.8GHz+, all at 1.73V but for the love of god I couldn't get any of my PSC (5 different sticks) to run over ~ DDR3-2000 (8-12-8-28, 1.84V). Tried my old BBSE (3 sticks) that can do 2400 9-12-9-25 @ 1.8V on Ivy but no post over XMP profile (2000 9-9-9-24 1.65V). The PSC can easily do 2600 8-12-8-31 without even pushing. The most common syndrome is for system to hang at POST code 40, tries another cycle, hangs at 40 again, shuts down, boots to stock memory clock (overclocking failed, BCLK overclock remains). VCCIN up to 2.35V Vcore up to 1.75V VCSAA up to +0.2V VCPUIO-A up to +0.15V VCPUIO-D up to +0.15V VMEM up to 1.9V I haven't been seriously overclocking since Ivy Bridge but I want to get this system ready for LN2 run. Tried BIOS 1.42 first then upgraded to 1.5, same issues. Black slots or yellow slots, doesn't matter (well, MFR worked better in black ones). Manual profiles or hand written presets - doesn't matter. For some reasons the board doesn't want to set multiplier (even 4.0GHz overclock fails) until i select NickShih 5.8G profile and edit it manually. Anyone else has such problems? I'm feeling like I am about to give up on this pretty little board, just today I spent 10 hours trying different settings and blewing 7 kilowatt hours of electricity. I don't remember having such a bad time overclocking since the Gigabyte P67 days and the Sandy Bridge.
  5. Here's the run: http://hwbot.org/submission/2407946_tiborrr_3dmark2001_se_geforce_gtx_580_151123_marks?recalculate=true I don't have time to re-fill the dewar and re-bench today as I am leaving for a mountaineering vacation tomorrow. I am sure Petri will drop in with high-power HD7970 DirectCU II to comment on the thermal performance of the unit.
  6. This pot will not fit 4-way, it's too thick. This is the 'fat' pot. The mass is no problem. I tested it briefly 2 days ago using MSI N580GTX Ligthning XE and managed to pull a 3DM'01 run at 1350/2300 @ 1.4V but couldn't go over due to lack of compatible software. Don't know really, I have a personalized version of MSI ABX but apparently it does not run with these cards (it was sent to me in the N680 Lightning days). Also it has a CBB at -55°C which no CBB bios has fixed. The card really is a power hog, it drank 30 litres of LN2 just for some easy runs. Load handling is easy peasy though. Will post some screenshot tomorrow when I refill and re-bench. @Threedhero: You heard it right: http://www.ekwb.com/news/368/19/EK-SF3D-Triple-Point-EVO-UNI-Adapter-plate-released-new-revision-inbound/
  7. @barbonenet: Come again? First time I hear that. All in all congrats for your purchase! About the link above we have disabled it because were not sure if we could get copper this size in time. It is active now.
  8. Already in the webshop: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-sf3d-triple-point-evo-module-copper-2pcs.html Shipping will start Wednesday next week (July 31st 2013).
  9. When it happened to me I just turn it off and call it a day. Works fine the very next day.
  10. We will have these in stock by next week!
  11. @Infra: Oh look, it's my old EK-RAM Dominator water block from early 2011! Good one! Here's something every memory lover would appreciate: Nickel plated FULL COPPER memory adapters. Now your memory can go full pull LN2 on your DIMMS (-196°C).
  12. d0m: We have butterly and thumbs nuts in M2.5. Feel free to PM me if you need some.
  13. Much the same, buddy. Just the reasons are different.
  14. Here's the final product on ASRock Z87M OC Formula:
  15. Hey guys, here's the first photo of the alu extension. It's off to anodization process now so I will have final pictures tomorrow. @Threedhero: The height is the same, plenty enough for dry ice though.
  16. Moar reviews (non sampled) by _mat_: http://www.overclockers.at/articles/the-show-must-go-on/page_3 Moar news for you: http://www.ekwb.com/news/368/19/EK-SF3D-Triple-Point-EVO-UNI-Adapter-plate-released-new-revision-inbound/ New revision of EK-SF3D Triple Point EVO:
  17. So, that literally means I need: 1) a good 3570K 2) a good Vishera 3) a good 2600K 1) and 2) are hard enough as it is, but number 3)... Thanks but no thanks.
  18. So... 4C/8T Sandy Bridge CPUs are really allowed in B Class? -snip-, i'm out.
  19. LOL, ever seen AMD C32 CPU? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_C32
  20. My 650 GTX Ti Boost coldbugs at ~ -95°C so we are in the same boat
  21. The awaited adapter plate for EK-SF3D Triple Point memory cooling is now here! It features AMD S940/939/754 mounting hole pattern and you can fit: 1) single-stage or cascade phase change evaporator 2) CPU water block - for example EK-Supremacy - with TEC / Peltier 3) your old CPU pot if you have room for it Universal mounting mechanism with very long countersunk M4 screws, washers, nuts, springs and thumb nuts will be included.
